I take Maggie, the mutt, for a walk every morning. I let her out of the crate in the utility room, and normally, she is ready to get the harness and leash on, and out the door. Well, this morning, I had to carry her out. We go the equivalent of about a city block and somewhere along the way she, takes care of business. This morning, we get to the end of the driveway, she squats and weedles and stops dead. I tell her to come on, so we round the corner and she stops at the entry to a path that goes back to the front yard. I make her go again, so she takes about 10 steps and poops. She runs forward a few steps and locks up again. I say "do you want to go home?" She wheels around, starts back. I stop her and let her off the leash and the greyhound in her breeding kicked in. She stretched out and all I saw was the nubby tail as she flew across the yard, around the house to the back. When I got to the back door, she was waiting on me. We have walked in ice and snow and in the teens, this is the first time she has said that it was too cold.

Funny story. My dogs won't stay out very long in this cold either.

You get my age, you learn to go where the urge hits. Otherwise you either plug up the system or end uo burning some underwear.
