Exclamation Gas Theft!!!

All morning long on the little crawler thing on the bottom of the local T.V. stations, they have been reporting Gas theft is on the rise. They said they are puncturing tanks and cutting hoses to siphon out the gas on SUV'S and Pickup's. Man i would like to catch someone in the act, i think i would just throw a "Match" at them and watch it all go up in smoke....

I hear that.... I've been contemplating just putting enough gas in my truck to get me to work and back every day. That way I drive less and if a theif tries to steal it, I'm not out much.

If my truck got stolen, the last thing I'd be concerned about is how much gas I'd be out. Even at a full tank of 93 octane, it's not even $100. The truck is worth significantly more than that.

I don't have to worry about that in my car. Not to long ago, picked up a locking gas cap in case someone decided to put something in the tank.

No one but I came out of a hotel one time and the light was on saying to Check Gas Cap. I got home, opened the door and the damn thing fell off. I don't think anyone messed with it but I think it just fell off?

Locking gas caps are good, but they are just cutting hoses and puncturing the tank to drain the gas.
Im not sure if just having enough gas in your tank to get from point A to point B is a good idea. With the way gas prices are jumping up over night, I want as much of it as I can get for the price it is right now.

Maybe it's time to install a gas tank skid plate..................

Sounds like it better be heavy steel. Not the OEM plastic plate!

They can steal the truck as long as they blow it up before the police find them.

I'm more worried about the 100$ getting stolen from my tank. I live in a "less than reputable" neighborhood..
