Another "My answer to high gas prices..."

I've decided to take matters into my own hands.

Couple hours and some signatures later and I rode off on this.

Pipe was extra. Gives it a little bit of noise - remember, loud pipes save lives!

It's pretty sweet. Goes 75ish top end, 60 very comfortably. It's a real comfy ride and very stable. Throttle is easy, brakes are more than adequate. This is a Taiwanese-made scoot that's been available in Europe since 2004. 2-yr Warranty. Has a ceramic coated cylinder, and 4 valves. Best part is, claimed 100mpg, and users I've talked to have gotten in the 75-80 range romping on it.

I'm happy. It's a little nerdy, but its a fun ride, and ultimately the 8$ fill-ups which last me a week or so will feel great compared to 90-100$ in my truck - plus I don't have to dump the truck for an eco-box.

I guess its cool for a scooter. I had a honda spree back when I was 14. It only went 35mph though. Why didnt you go with a motorcycle instead?

I have a friend down in Katy that bought one of those last year. She said the price for her scooter has doubled since the time she bought it last summer!

It's pretty cool. I don't really have an ego anymore. Gettin too old for that... (I'm still young, sheesh...)

It's actually really quick. Not sure exact times but I'd say under 10 seconds. 0-15 is a little sluggish, after thats its all go.

Devon, bring your truck over here and you can ride it. Bring some

Edit: Forgot some... Yeah it needs registration, but that was like 20$... And I only have to carry liability which will be next to nothing. It can't exactly cause a lot of damage.

I was considering a Ninja 250, but that's not enough bike for me, and it wouldn't get near the gas mileage of this (too much throttle...) Plus, like ddellwo said, it'll hold it's value and then some.

Oh forgot about that... I think it depends on your state. I don't think I need one. It's supposed to be 250cc or higher and you do - mine's a 200. I've ridden bigger bikes for a while without one though, and never gotten a citation.

Screw-Me-05 - haha yeah.. Shh!
