My nephew had one with the 4 banger turbo. I hated the thing. Every other weekend I was working on that piece of junk and it wasn't just engine issues. I hope you like working on cars. There's a good reason why you don't see many anymore - they're junk looking for a place to die.

The mustang II sold more then any other mustang. Actually very successful. I hated them. The were based on the pinto. Could climb in value someday and it sounds like cheap fun,

The 2.8 V6 is a lousy engine. It's gutless, and has solid lifters that are a PITA to keep adjusted. Gas mileage isn't that great either. I know opportunity is knocking, but I'd much prefer an early Fox with the 200 CI inline 6 for a daily driver. It's got more guts, easier maintenance, and gets better gas mileage.

Yes, you can put a 302 into the Mustang II - it was a factory option later on in its life.

to jethat: yes that is what im looking for fun inexpensive and not many around

to glc: please read previous post. now then I have rebuilt the v-6 and the 4 cyl that was used in these cars, when done properly they are extremely reliable and fun, and as a matter of mpgs if it is tuned properly the v-6 is perfectly capable of the high 20' low 30's on the highway. yes I can drop in any pre computer 302 in later, basically in a weekend and a EFI in a week or so. the rest of the drive train (c-4, rear end are very reliable) and I did consider a fox please see my last post

I never liked the big, long Mustangs, but I saw one in pristine condition in Plano the other day...

I must admit, just for a second, I envied the driver...

My favorite mustang has always been the 69-70 fastbacks/Mach I's When I bought mine I was actually looking for one of those. I found mine it was close and it wasnt very much I only paid $5500 for it 8 years ago and at that time a 69-70 in the same condition was worth twice that. Now I think mine is worth 20-25k but I've done allot to it and its pretty pristine. If it were a 69-70 it would be worth twice that.. Bottom line is its a fun hobby beats spending my money on booze and hookers..

You on the otherhand, giggle for a second, and then tell me to go F myself. I dig the way you roll
