HOA bans F150 from driveway

The sad part is that the rules of an HOA is controled by the home owners. Aparently not to many are getting involved. I hate to say it, but I would have them in court yesterday. It is one thing to dictate what colors your house can be. That is reasonable for the most part. But to dictate what you drive and where to park it is out of line. Whats next... someone getting a ticket because they didn't wash there bently for 3 weeks?

That is your opinion. Pretty stupid one besides. A truck is what ever you want it to be. If you want a no option truck.. you go right ahead. I will take my screw lariat and enjoy the moon roof, heated seats and mirriors, and 6 disc changer. Also the climate control, steering wheel controls, leather is nice too. And mine will do all the work yours does... oh wait.. mine will do more as I have the 5.4 and you have a V-6. So much for your work truck.

the lincoln mark LT is allowed but not an F-150, time for uncorked headers and 1st gear @ 35mph thru the neighborhood just to be "unclasssy" if that was me, I'd park my truck on the HOA presidents lawn each night
only in Texas
on a side note
I wonder if I my harley Truck is classy enough?

it is all in where you live.
Anyone that buys a home in a Houston area neighborhood that does NOT have an HOA is insane. there are NO zoning laws down here. the HOA is the only thing that keeps someone from buying the lot next to you, bulldozing the house and opening a salvage yard.
Contractors are required to have a physical address in the location they are working .. if you have no HOA, they can come buy the house next to you, and start parking their equipment there, and you can't do jack about it.
The HOA can definately be over the top, but most fo the time, you are better off with them.
There are several upper end neighborhoods that don't allow trucks to be parked overnightin a visible location. seems stupid to me.

Anyways, it makes sense. In some HOA's eyes, a truck is not pretty. No matter how cool you or others think it is. If they say no, you should comply.
Now would I personally would take up grief over it? Nope... if they have that kind of attitude, I'd just throw the house up for sale and move if my job depended on that truck. Classic case and tesimonials from professional truck drivers (semi trucks), that are forced to move because that semi of theirs parked in their driveway, doesn't comply with the HOA.
On the other hand, if you have your truck only to cart yourself or family to and from work, the grocery store, etc, then I would just comply and get rid of it for something smaller, like a sedan or a crossover.
I think the HOA is being reasonable.
Also, they are not forcing you to do one certain thing either. They are leaving you with plenty of viable options... and I can list them:
1. Get rid of your truck and get a car.
2. Move out of the house.
3. Build a structure that would hide the truck, eg. garage.
So, you have a choice, now take your pick.

"only in texas"...i don't get what this is supposed to mean, though a few of you have repeated it
i don't have access to the video, but did the HOA rules change without a vote after he bought the house?
if i were buying a house with an HOA, i'd read the contract first...if i didn't agree to the terms, i'd pass on the purchase...pretty simple

I forgot to mention that.
Basically, if you didn't read the HOA stipulations, and it said that trucks are not allowed, then you better just comply. I would not make a hissy fit about it.
Just do the responsible thing.

I live in a place with a HOA that is pretty reasonable for the most part. When I bought in the area I had to read the rules before purchase. In this case they originally didn't allow PU trucks in the driveway in view of the street then changed the rules making exceptions which are vague and open to personal feelings....
Sounds like a good lawsuit the HOA will loose badly in court.
