HOA bans F150 from driveway

First, I read the site everyday. I lurk mostly, though. Also, I have traded in my 2004 STX for a 2007 Supercrew. So, my name kinda doesn't fit anymore.

With that out of the way, here is the story. This guy has a very nice Supercrew F150, but his HOA is thinking about imposing fines because is truck isn't "classy" enough to park in front of his house. All I can say is WOW....

Wow, I hope he is able to argue his case. I am sure the HOA does not like the media getting involved

Only in Texas

WTF's an HOA? Those homes didn't look like a condo setup. I owned a condo type setup once, but only once. It'll never happen again.

Either way, I can't see this HOA bullcrap lasting long. That's as discriminatory as it comes. Has Texas turned to Communism?

My parents had the same issue in a seniors condo complex in NC back in the early 80's. No pickup trucks allowed, period.

Home Owner's Association. Lots of them around here. Usually staffed by folks who have a desire to rule over others. I live with one. Rules were in place before I bought, I can live with them. Not in my HOA, but I have seen & read many instances where they went waaaaaay overboard with new rules or enforcement measures.

I didn't read the article yet, but there are HOA's in the north dallas area that for 10 years have not allowed pick up trucks from being parked on the stret in front of a house, after dark.

That, and because the trucks aren't as classy as, say a Lexus or BMW.

There are drawbacks to HOA's, but with my last neighbor, I sure wish we had one... Boats, big 4x4 truck, ATV's and al that sh*t in the yard, in the blooming city...

Get outta here with that- and go buy some land in the country. Then put all the sh*t you want in your yard. Not in a city where what you do in your yard, lowers that value or resale potential of my property.

Cool guy, but didn't know when to quit.

Neighbors kept calling the cops on him (Can't have vehicles parked in you yard), and he eventually got mad and left.

I can't even imagine owning a detached home on my own property and being ****-tated to what I can and can't do with or on my own property.
Yes, we have municipal by-laws, so people can't pile junk in front of their homes, or boats and trailers etc, but that's understandable, and I agree with it.
I knew what HOA stood for (after I watched the vid), but I've just never seen one in a neighborhood like the one in that vid. I always associate those kinds of home owner type policies with condo/townhouse type setups.

There's at least one condo cop in every jack off association.

That's why I will never live in a community like that. It's my damn money, my property, who the F are you to tell me what I can/can't park in the driveway...

And regardless... the Mark LT is an F-150. Someone get him some chrome overlays and he'll be ok.

It gets even better. HOA have the authority to seize your home and auction it off if your fail to pay your HOA dues. I've seen it done. A lady owed $1800.00 for two years back. Her home was valued at more that $200K. The HOA sold the home for $1800.00

Um... wow. What a bunch of tards. You can park a freakin Ridgline and Avalanche but not a 150? Lol...

Although absurd it wouldn't take that much to make his truck a mark lt. The conv. package is probably a drop in the bucket to him, although I realize that it's the whole notion that gets him.

I hope he fights and wins. Stupid HOAs...

It's easy to rip HOA's until you've had some jack-off move next to you that never mows his yard, stores trailers full of used HVAC equpment in his driveway, drains the radiators of his vehicles and just lets the anti-freeze run down his driveway and into the street. Get one of these ****** living next to you and you'll be thankful for your HOA......

The only way I'd live somewhere that didn't have one is if I owned property out in the country and could keep a decent distance between myself and any piece of trash that decided to buy the lot next door to me......
