Look at any Socialist country. There are plenty of poor folks. A general premise of the Democratic party is social programs; generally benefiting the poor. If the poor population no longer uses or needs these social programs then the Dem party loses it's base. There is quite an argument backing this premise that was there way before Obama took the helm for the Dems.

A socialist country may have poor people, but that is not the intention, and the obvious failure of socialism. This guys talks about Obama's intention, so is it socialism, or to keep people poor?

Do you really believe if you are living off the Government you are not poor? Every society will have poor citizens. Just like they will have rich people. Do you think there were not any rich people under soviet rule? Do you really think everyone stood in bread lines begging for their one loaf a bread? In our hemisphere there is a socialist state that has one of the worst slums on the planet. There are people making millions off all their government owed oil fields and families with kids are basically sleeping in boxes and tin shacks.

Still not the idea of socialism. Since Obama has not been elected yet, the idea of him wanting to turn us into a socialist state is conjecture, and the idea that he wants to keep the poor the way they are so he has a base is also unproven, all you've got is theory. In theory, there would be no poor people in a socialist state. Again, this guy is no genius, some people will support anything that bashed Obama.

That's correct. The government would take money for people who are wealthy and give it to the poor. That would eliminate the poor, in theory.

Obama is proposing spreading the wealth. That would ,in theory, make people who were poor, no longer poor. I know that you'de like to say that tax cuts are spreading the wealth but the fact is that Obama's plan sends checks to millions of people who, with the benefit of availible deductions, will recieve a check, funded by all of us actual tax payers, free and clear, from the government. Google it.

Maybe this guy isn't a genius. I see him as a regular guy. I can relate to that.

Bashing Obama? You've got to be kidding me. There has been so much money made from/by people supporting anything that bashed Bush. For the last seven plus years. You have got to be kidding me.

Obama isn't proposing socialism? Well, according to Merriam-Websters, if it ain't socialism it's pretty damn close.

So maybe after he takes office, I can quit working and you guy's will support me!!!!!

but what happens if you guy's quit working too?

Ah,,,,the problem with socialism..........no reward for hard work.

Now if we could just figure out a way to get workaholics to pass some ambition over to lazy people!!!!!!!!!! That might work!

Spread the ambition.....fight laziness.....then poverty will take care of itself.

The topic is the video, we've been over the socialism thing already. If this regular guy was bashing McCain, somehow I doubt you'd take such a liking to him.

The topic is the video? I quoted your words from what you wrote:

Right. The topic is the video. I do remember going over the socialism thing previously. Nothing has changed there.

You would be correct to doubt that I would like a guy who bashed McCain. I don't think that I'd even notice him. He wouldn't stand out. He'd just be one in millions. I've already heard that. I've been hearing it for almost eight years now. It's become popular to criticize republicans. I choose to be a rebel and criticize democrats. They deserve it as much, if not more than the republicans. Some day a majority will see that.

I don't recall you ever defending McCain from bashing. Did I miss that somewhere? Should I do a search?

If you can find a similar McCain bashing thread here, be my guest, good luck.

You're right.

There are a few threads that seem to have been created to bash McCain but unlike the media, most here aren't in the tank for Obama.

I won't suggest Palin or Bush bashing threads. They aren't McCain so I'd guess bashing them doesn't count here.

You're more than welcomed to go through threads. While I don't care for Bush, when he did something I agreed with, I had no problem saying so, same goes for McCain. Perhaps in your searching, you can find anything positive you've ever said about a Democrat.
