Will a Black President Really Heal the Racial Divide? By T.D. Jakes

http://www.time.com/time/politics/ar...856574,00.html

One of the youngest Presidents in the history of our nation will bring new shades to the canvas of white leaders who came before his unprecedented political career. Senator Barack Obama has proved to be a biracial icon who can mobilize blacks and whites alike. Perhaps his mixed parentage gave him the multicultural background needed to be culturally bilingual, creating the dialogue that may bridge our divide.
Very good article from a very good man, Rev. T.D. Jakes.

It doesn;t seem likely that he will do anything for the racial barrier when his wife is one of the most racist bigots in politics.

I haven't been yet. My wife has though.

We need more level headed people like him in this world.

You don't know what you are missing
Back in the day, many viewed him as a poor fat black man ,(Conservative) with a flashy Trans Am, driving around preaching the word of god. Must have been abusing the system

I know Rev. Jakes, he used to come to my church when I was a kid and preach a lot. He was always easy to listen to, was very nice and very unimposing.
Didn't he play football for the Bills before he started preaching?

all in all... NO im sorry but as long as there is life on earth black people will always say one thing (i just wont to be treated equally) and do the exact opposite (oh i get put in jail for stealing just cause im black) hasnt anyone stopped to think why they havent quit bit*hing about slavery for 150 years and why theres no end in sight (especially a harsh 8 more coming for sure)...... its because they want racial tension, if there wasnt racism in the world that means people like sharpton, jackson, oprah, whoopi goldberg and celebs alike would have to go out and get a real job...... so no essentially as far as race goes this "presidency" rwally does nothing.....

Obama has an education far better than I ever had a chance for. He is not anything like, what I call the people that devide the races. I can look around me and point out people that do devide us by race all the time. I definatly think his wife is very racest from the words of her on mouth, and have only heard her speak a few words on two occasions.

I still believe everyone is racist on some level. The proof is how a mixed crowd of people gather in their groups everytime you see them. Though that is not unusual, it is an observation through out history.

From: Georgia on my mind...

I will give him this, he's effectively taken the race card out of the deck.

No more BS from the "disadvantaged youths" about how they're destined to a life of thuggery, gangbanging, dope slinging and elevenity babymamas because of racism and slavery.

Hood rats can't sit on their asses drawing welfare and squirting out babies at an alarming rate anymore, claiming that whitey is keeping them down.

Obama proved that if you get off your *** and put some effort into your being, anything's possible. Even becoming President of the United States.

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and every other lowlife baby factory crack momma welfare case, they're all gonna have to find a new racket. Or better yet, get a f'kin' job.

He also attributes that to his Mother and Grandmother. Responsibilty for your children, Well he could be the "poster child" Clinton also except for his other Cuban cigars habits

You couldn't have said it better Quintin- The only problem is in his "Wealth redistribution plan" he's gonna realize pretty soon that for all he's promised the lazzy a#*ed do nothings to buy the votes he just bought, that taxing the "Rich, (those making over $250k a year) ain't gonna come close to cuttin it, and the tax cuts he promised to your neighborhood (the $50k one) are soon gonna be the new "Rich", and require a tax increase instead. Fooled you didn't he? (How he got elected) (not directed at you Quintin, rather the dopes that elected him) Grab your fanny and fasten your seat belt, you're in for a wild ride and if this cart turns over in the process, remember it wasn't Nobama's fault, musta been somebody elses. Don't think they will, but if things go well, it was Nobama's brilliance and if the cart turns wheels up, musta been "W's" fault.

Can you explain why the states with the highest poverty levels and the greatest number of people on welfare were those won by McCain?
