Post Finally got to drive a 2000 4.6L

Yes, I had to see for myself. The local dealer here in my hometown has a 2000 F-150 4x4 Supercab with shortbed Maroon with grey buckets. 4.6L/auto. Crappy factory Cd though!!! Lovely truck. I wasn't interested in buying it(yet) and was curious about leasing. how does Ford set a price for leasing? Maybe I should have posted in the prices?

I think a lease is based on MSRP... You may be able to negotiate the starting price though.... I've never leased.

Oh ya i loved it. It ain't no PowerStroke though. I think If I was to get a 4x4, I would go with the 5.4though it's only what 250 dollars more?

Pastmaster...
Actually...it is much more than $250.00 for the 5.4L over the 4.6L! I don't have the exact amount..but it is higher than $250.00!
The 5.4L is a $1,550 option (at MSRP price).
Well worth it though!!

dustoff: I think your right, I remember a figure like that. I think it is $350 in lieu of a 5.4L in the SuperDuty

Talking

I just checked Kelley Blue Book's web page(s) for the 2000 F150s. They list the 5.4L V8 as an $800 option (dealer cost is $680) if you step up from the 4.6L. If you have a 4x4 or Lariat 4x2 with either the towing package or the electrical/cooling pkg, the price drops to $740 (dealer cost is $629). Now, if you make the step up from the 4.2L V6, then you're talking $1550 (dealer cost is $1,318). Hope this may have cleared up any confusion in regards to the price of the 5.4.
