What jobs have you worked in the past?

I used to be a lumberjack, but I just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the ax.
I worked in a blanket factory, but it folded.
I was a welder at the submarine repair yard, until it went under.
I had a job in a soup kitchen, but I got canned.
I was a cobbler's apprentice and he gave me the boot.
I bagged groceries until I was sacked.
I was a member of the Flying Walendas Trapeze Act, but I was let go.

Hey WMR, LTNS! Yes we just got hammered with the snow. Probably not as much as you. I haven't been out yet this morning but looks like we got 4-6 inches and it's windy now. This is my weekend off so probably won't even leave the house until Monday.
Looks like this cold snap is going to sick around all next week.
silversvt04, have fun in the tar sands. If I was single I would have headed there long ago. I would love to run some of that huge equipment they have there.

Pumped gas at my Dad's gas station. First job ever at 15.
Dishpig, Busboy, Host, Bartender at a couple of different restaurants. Then I grew tired of the food service industry.
Auto Detailer for many years. First for a car lot for several years but they stuck me running the interior cleaning section and doing nothing but interior cleaning was boring so I left for a detail shop for about a year and half. Working for the owner made him all the money and he paid us poorly.
Courier for 13 years. I was a contractor for the company I worked for so the money was very good at first but insurance, parts and fuel kept rising but there were so many companies out there you really didn't raise your prices much.
Went back to school while I was a courier and I am now a Production Operations Accountant for a large Oil and Gas company. I am in my 5th year and this is by far the best job I have had.

I never got an allowance growing up, but I got 'paid' to cut the lawn, wash the family cars, weed the gardens, that kinda thing.
First job I paid taxes on was the opening shift of a Burger King. That lasted about 4 months
I interned at Exide Electronics (aka Powerware) in the process engineering department at the factory where they made backup power systems, aka, bigass batteries.
In college I spent a little over a year throwing pie's in a 'gourmet' pizza shop.
Also while in college, I worked at the State Fairgrounds managing some concession stands. My friends and I worked there for about 3 years, until the person we worked for lost their contract at the fairgrounds. During the big shows we could pull $150+ cash for an 8 hour shift. Not bad for college kids.
I worked at a Mongolian Grill for about 5 weeks. After my 2nd paycheck bounced, so did I.
I spent 2 years at the NC DOT's Rail Division working on railroad crossing safety upgrades.
I'm currently a mechanical engineer, doing mostly civil engineering work for a consulting company. We deal mainly with ports (coastal engineering), but we do railroad design as well.
When I'm not doing design work, I'm a Supervisor for underwater inspections. We use surface supplied air and diving helmets to inspect piers, wharves, bulkheads, etc.

Always did odds and ends the whole time I was growing up, alot of mechanical work, mowing, weedeating for the neighbors, while playing 2 sports, then got a summer job when I graduated doing commercial lawncare and landscaping, went to school for 4 years at Penn State, got my Bachelors in Management, continued landscaping throughout, then couldn't find a job in my field, started diggin and puttin in pipe, and been doing that for a year and a half.

I used to have a job at the good will vacuuming farts out of couch cushions until I got a better job, picking rat turds out of pepper corn.
Really, let's see..
I built decks on swanky new houses the summer between sophmore and junior in HS
Other general construction between junior and senior in HS
After graduation I was a sandwich maker, organic peanut-butter maker at Kroger and
top grill at Wendy's while going to Autobody school.
Hotel security
Tombstone installer
Did some night-watching at a mine site
Was a car salesman
Auto body tech
Valet
Security officer at a hospital
and about 20 other things like delivering tickets and selling perfume and cologne door to door that only lasted a week or two at most.
