Fast,
I think that it'll be a toss up as to who wins.
My Y2k 5.4 w/3.73 is faster than my 99 4.6 W/3.08 but not by much at all. I'm actually kinda disappointed in the 5.4, its touted as being alot stronger than the 4.6. I thought it would have had more ***** than it does.
Mind you I'm comparing a 4x2 to a 4x4

Fast46---

Isn't there a descent torque difference though (your 4.6L: 290 lbs/ft @ 3250 rpm vs his 98 5.4L: 330 lbs/ft @ 3000 rpm) He will be able to get a better jump on you at the line and 'should' be able to hold it.

Win or Lose...I would still like to hear the results!!

Doesn't the '98 5.4 have 245 HP, not 235. Because FORD added 15 HP to make it 260 HP. That would make sense.

Well, he's got the Horse Power Advantage, the Torque Advantage, and the Thrust-to-Weight Advantage, it will definitly be tough.

HI!... 54REGCAB : Good! Then we can race as soon as I put my KENNE BELL on!LOL! The true duels are great. It looks good too. If you decide to make your own, make sure you use all 2.5" "MANDREL" bent tubing.Thats what I did when I custom designed my exhaust system. It sounds good too. But don't take my word for it, ask "GSXR" or "JMC" what it sounds like. They hear it a lot better than I do!LOL!

Fast,
This must be the most talked about, anticipated street race between two pick-ups in the history of the world. Not to put any pressure on you or anything.

Yep, fast46 is correct...235 hp

The 98 5.4L I use to have had 235 hp. I just checked in the 98 sales brochure...235 hp @ 4,250 rpm and 330 lbs/ft of torque @ 3,000 rpm.
