If Regular Unleaded goes over 2.00 US per gallon, I think that will begin to hurt all GaZ GuZZlerS..........

It would definetely cut down on the ppl that buy trucks for personal vehicles.
Ppl who need them for work will still have to buy them though.

As long as the economy keeps riding high and people have money to burn, the trucks'll keep selling. Economy takes a crap and people start getting nervous, dealers'll have a hard time moving anything offering less than 20 mpg (see the energy crises of the 70s, when Dunbarton wore an afro and plaid bell bottoms).

It will certainly make some people think twice...and might force a few to purchase a smaller vehicle....but most will still get one. The fuel prices are not that bad YET.

Maybe. I know in my case, I'll just economize elsewhere, such as eating out less.

It's not the fuel prices, Dustoff. If people believe they have the money (or can make it to another payday) it doesn't matter if gasoline's $100 a gallon-they'll buy it. If the economy takes a crap and folks don't think they're going to have any money, they get nervous and start watching every dime.

I would think $400.00+ a month payments and $2.00 a gallon prices will drop the personal sales quite a bit. Businesses like the one I own will pay the higher pump prices and pass the savings to the customer. Most of the people I know would never even consider getting in the hole $350.00 + a month for a guzzler.

If the gas prices would have been what they are today 3 months ago I would have bought something else but if they go up any higher I'll have to slow down or get something else seeing how speeding is a hard habit to break I may have to go back to a car and feel cramped when I drive.

High fuel prices for extended periods WILL no doubt have a slight impact on sales...and current owners will not drive their gas guzzlers as much. When gas is jumping 3-5 cents every few days...and some members just reported a 10 cent jump in parts of the country..this will make the consumer think a second about getting something with slightly better fuel mileage.

To be honest..I would still buy an F-150 with the 5.4L if I was looking to get one right now.
