Lesse, a few came up over the 6000 miles on mine.
Rear End howls above 80mph :-)
Driver mirror shakes
Slight left lean
Headlights need align
A/C smells funky
Instrument cover has dirt on inside
Slight clunk when decelerating from 30mph

I'll get it fixed as soon as I get motivated enough to mess with the dealer.

Lariat Ryder:
I got my 2000 last October by custom order. I now have 4500 miles and love my truck. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing..............but, it's not perfect (what is?). Here's the lowdown on my two probs so far:

1) There is a constant buzz, or vibration felt at the gas pedal around 1750 RPM, when I change pedal pressure, and the dealer calls it "normal". I guess I'll have to live with it.

2) The truck developed a clunk when shifting between gears (automatic) and sometimes coasting to a stop. The dealer replaced the entire driveshaft assembly, including U-joints and mounting plates. While waiting for parts, the dealer suggested I not drive it. This did fix the problem, though. Fritz, look into this one!

2000 XLT Black Sport, Flareside, 2WD, Ext. Cab, 5.4L Auto. Other factory options: 3.55 LS, Class III tow, 6-way Captains chairs w/CD changer, Remote entry , and Slider window.
Mods: Undercoat, window tint, headlight & tail light covers, removed "Sport" decals, upgraded Triton tailgate emblem, Linex spray-in bedliner, and an ARE LSII lid.
Wish list: Flowmaster duals, K&N FIPK or Velocity Tube, and a Belltech 3/4 drop.

Well so far no major problems with a little over 3,500 miles since 11/12/99 when I bought my truck the only problems I had are poor gas mileage and a speeding ticket.

Mine is great except for a rough idle when the transmission is in drive and sitting at a light. Of course the dealer says it is normal

FritzTheCat: A lot of your problems sound like ones MANY of us here with 97's have had!! Try going through search for clunk when stopping, shaking mirror, smelly AC. The AC problem, I fixed by simply turning to panel about a minute before I knew I was gonna turn off the truck. It seemed to dry it out so it didn't mold inside. You will really know you've joined this board when your rear slider starts to leak

My only problem with my new Y2k is the freaking price of fuel

Brought mine home 12/15/99 and the only problems I had were dealer mishaps like no floor mats and mismatched mirror covers. No engine/wind/door/window/mirror problems like other models/people have said.

Over 10,000 km (6,200 miles) and no mechanical problems.

HOWEVER, I washed it last weekend for the first time in months and I'm crying. The sides have obviously been bush-wacked and there's LOTS of other scratches. I think my youngest son and his friends have been swacking the fenders with their hockey bags or something. Lots of work ahead of me this spring to polish those out.

------------------
Black 2000 SC XLT short-box. 4.2 V-6, 5-speed, 3.55 Limited Slip. Side steps, CD, remote entry, FORD box liner. Add-ons: Older Windstar driver's side wiper blade (with the air scoop, because I don't slow down when it rains), back-up beeper, "f150online.com" sticker and snazzy Tweetie Bird floor mats.

My third F-series: '73 F-100, '98 F-150 and '00 F-150. Great trucks!

Texaskid1, what are you a cop or something? I plead the 5th. Would you believe I got the first 2000 prototype in 1996? Guess I'll have to start reading the original post closer. My '97 looks almost like a 2000!
