I'm wondering if it has more to do with financing through ford than the purchase?

More of a thanks for giving us hundreds of dollars in interest. Instead of thanks for spending 30 grand on a vehicle.

Any way I hope it applies to leases too =]

Cool

I think quzax may be on to something, I did not use Ford Credit. I am also a repeat customer. Bought a '96 Eddie Bauer Explorer and got a nice duffel bag, '99 Lariat, Nothing. Also bought a '91 T-Bird, '93 Ranger and '96 Contour, and got nothing with them either. Oh well, I did get a great truck that I am very happy with it (best one yet).

Gentlemen,

A pattern is beginning to emerge regarding the free acquisition of the Ford F150 blankets.

Since Raoul and I have received them I believe it's the good looking guys that are receiving them.

I got my blanket about a month after my 99 Lariat purchase. I financed it through my credit union so that throws out the Ford Credit thing. Didn't recieve anything when I bought my 97 XLT so Raoul may be right with the second purchase thing. My mom got a nice set of folding chairs matching her Explorer's interior color when she bought hers. This was her second Explorer. Dealer participation may have something to do with it. But I think Dunbarton is right...only us good looking people are getting the free stuff.

P.S. Anyone want to trade your 97 F-150 folding chairs for a nice 99 "Built Ford Tough" blanket? Ford is being generous but degrading from folding chairs to a blanket just ain't right.

To mod or not to mod....that is the question!

I took delivery of my new 1999 Lariat on December 31, 1999. I recieved my blanket last week. It took about 3.5 months for me to get it.

It was my 2nd Ford Truck purchase. The first being a Ranger bought through Ford Credit (No freebies whatsoever - even had to supply my own payment envelopes) and now my new leased F-one nifty (Leased through a 3rd party) I have recieved some touch up paint, surveys, a photo calander of my and my truck (from the dealer) and now my blanket. The blanket is nice, but the chairs would have been nicer!

I got my blanket about 2-3 months after I bought my Lariat. And I don't think it's a repeat buyer thing, cause this is my first vehicle purchase ever.

My family has you all beat. My Dad has a Limited 4X4 Excursion, 6.8L with leather interior, premium sound, the works. I have my truck of course. My Bro has a 98 Ranger XLT, extended cab with a 2.5L guttless 4 banger. My Mom has a 95 F-350 XLT, crew cab, powerstroke deisel, 4X4. General work horse of a truck, 79 F-350 Lariat, single cab, with a awesome 460. Yet still we have gotten nothing. Son of a BEACH.

Dunbarton,
Your patterns is off. Although you, Raoul, and I are all complete studs (especialy in our trucks), I have still not gotten my dam* blanky.

Just to support the they send them out to lariats & some others theory. Maybe they send a blanket or fold up chairs to those who get leather so they can cover up (with the blanket) or replace (with the foldup chairs) the seats when the leather starts to look bad.

That would actually be like the ultimate red neck pickup replace your chairs with folding lawn chairs =]

Well, if jokes are going to be made about the blanket people then uh,...I didn't get one.

As far as the leather seats go, I knew that they would messed up with use, I'm no dummy. I covered my leather with vinyl seat covers on day one. I mean come on, give me some credit for smarts.

Angry

I took delivery of my truck in December '99 and i haven't gotten a blanket yet!! But on the flip side I haven't needed one because the weather here has been sooo nice and warm.
I think that it may be the lariat buyers that get the free stuff. Oh by the way I also financed through Ford and all I get is a monthly bill.

Raoul,

Ignore the naysayers. Our "studs with F150 blankys" has expanded with JJ, Loco and Freezer and I guess we should include the BBQMAN in leather. Now I know these guys must be handsome as the devil.

So, Here's to us and those like us ... damn few left!

(Ok, I just got the real poop on the blankets.)

Seems Ford has tracked certain build periods and identified those units which have a 100 percent probability of heater core failure.
The blanket IS NOT a stop gap measure but, is in fact, in lieu of repair.
