Question Wait on an order?

Gotta question gang. I finally went and placed an order this morning for a 2000
F-150 7700 (Don't laugh, I didn't need the SD, so I saved the next guy a place in line. Besides, I LOVE those 7lug chrome wheels!) I know that's a 250 (wolf in sheeps clothing)

Anyways. On the print out from the dealer I see "Priority: 40" My heart sank. Is this the priority number? 40!?

What can I expect gang?

A 40!!! AAAAAHHHHHH I don't know everything but I do know 2 priority codes:

10 - highest you can get i believe (this is what my truck got when I ordered it mid april)

&

99 - This was the code on the "test" orders my dealer did to get me pricing & to ensure all the items I wanted were included.

I got mine in 5 weeks @ a 10 priority. I'd check with the dealer. Make sure he has the allocation to order the truck immediately. If the dealer doesn't or can't get the code down to a 10 I'd check with other dealers.

Ok, now I think I got it figured out. The test number on my order IS 99. The priority is 10, not 40. That was my goof up. So maybe I can keep my hopes up

The Order Type was A and the Price Level is 32 It does say "This is not an invoice" though.

JoeTTU:
I would start getting on your dealer about this. I ordered my 4-12 & picked it up 5-20.
We have almost the same configuration so there shouldn't be any parts delays.

Quzax, I have been, that is why I have the recurring dream. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you give for yours, when you finally got it?

Cool

Hope this info helps...

I ordered my Y2K F-150 on 3-13. I just now got word that it's build date is 6-19. Mine is an XLT, SC, 4.2 V6, 5 speed, 3.55, with the XLT Sport package and CD Player. I have talked to the dealer about 5 times since I ordered it and everytime it is "Well, the engine is the holdup." (??) I know of a guy at work who ordered a Y2K F-150 in Feb and just got it on 5-30. Here's hoping the best.

My dealer (Atchinson Ford, Belleville MI) told me that if I ordered a 4 wheel drive truck that I'd get a better RCL interest rate (1 whole percent actually) **BUT** (I love those) But, I could expect a much longer wait for the truck to be built.

The dealer said they've had 2 wheel drives show up in 4 to 6 weeks, 4 wheel drives take maybe 10 to 12 weeks, and the Super Duties are anywhere's from 4 months to god knows.

I only wanted a 2 wheel so I was happy.

He also said chances are mine will be built in Norfolk.

JoeTTU: mine is an XLT instead of a Lariat but I got it for $100 Under Invoice ($27,935) & the dealer threw in the bug deflector & splash guards. I ended up ordering every option except the engine block heater. So unless it's something like the leather seats that are holding you up (are cows in high demand right now?, and if so does that mean cow print seat covers are hard to find?) you shouldn't have to wait to long. Although the time between when my dealer got the build date & the time it was delivered was only about a 1 - 1.5 weeks.

I got a VIN number and the satisfaction of knowing that it has been built, and that it is "IN TRANSIT", whatever the hell that means.. The dealer has no ETA or anything, they just know that it is "IN TRANSIT". Does anyone know how to track a truck, or is it even possible... Mine is a product of the Norfolk plant..

JoeTTU:
Search the message board RRREEEAAALLLLYYYY hard! There is a post on here somewhere (sorry I don't have any idea where) about how to track your truck through the rail company that Ford ships with. From what I remember you put in the VIN, it translates it into a "tracking #" and then tells you where the last place your truck was checked. Sorry I never got a change to use it so I don't know where it is or if it works but there is reference to it here somewhere =].
