Cool Calling anyone burning Ethanol RFG

Just wanted to know if anyone has expierienced any significant changes to engine performance with an Ethanol fuel blend. In Missouri, the primary fuel additive I have been fueling with contains MTBE. With consistent driving habits, I average 17 @ 65MPH burning this fuel. I recently have driven in a convoy to northern IL and WI. Since one of the vehicles in route was restricted to 55 MPH on IL highways due to its trailer, I was able to set my cruise at 60 for the entire trip. After 1250 miles I have averaged the highest mileage to date with my 5.4 4x4 with 3.73LS gears of 20.1 MPG.

This was great due to the fact that gas up there was nearly 2$ a gallon. My question is to anyone with a chemical background. Does anyone know what the energy content is of fuel containing MTBE over fuel containing Ethanol and has anyone tried to run his or her vehicle out at the track fueled with RFG.
Thanks
