Anyone else getting sick of these pirates?

It's the company's that run these ships who have started this all by deciding to pay these pirates in the first place. MY point was that throwing security on these boats solves nothing.

It's one thing if they are attacking another nations ship but this is getting rediculous.
I think it's time to start kicking some butt!

From what I have read and seen on the news, the FBI is attempting to negotiate the captain's return. Attacking them now would ensure the man's death---and that is a last resort.
The dilemma is actually what to do BEFORE there are hostages taken. I would imagine that, in the eyes of the govt's of the world, that there are actually "bigger fish to fry." A carrier could be dispatched, but that also entail the carrier's support group---and, while I dislike saying it, that probably, in the eyes of most gov'ts, isn't cost effective. As stated earlier, arming MM vessels is illegal. The pirates are low-class scumbag bastids, but they ain't stupid...they seem to know what they can get away with. If you do patrol, while they probably won't attack, they simply go into hiding, and another problem, as stated before, that is an awfully big area to adequately patrol. Naval escorts for a ship's safe passage through there also probably isn't cost effective, either.

Well I was going to say that maybe we should start telling the Samolian Gov. that these attacks on US ships will be considered an act of war and we will bring the rain on the contry of Samolia.
But since Samolia has no Gov., that's not really an option either.
It sounds to me that international laws need to be changed to allow merchant ships to protect themselves.
Making it illegal for ships to have the weapons needed to protect themselves is just empowering the pirates.
Serotta, this is the lesson learned that can be applied to gun control in the US.

So, what order would you tell Obama to give? Just sayin' regardless how this ends up, there will be a great deal of crap...if he gives the order to attack, the Amercian captain of the ship will die. If he doesn't give the order to attack, the American captain of the ship may live...or he may not...do you want to give the THE ORDER or do you want to see what the end game is, and give the captain a chance to survive?
