Post radar-laser defusers-jammers--true or junk?

been looking into the "K-40 laser defuser plus" and the "Blinder M-10 laser jammer". what do you all think, are these just junk items or do they really work against laser speed traps? i have read different articles on many (supposed) laser jammers and these two are supposed to be the best and actual work.
everyones opinion wanted.

thanks in advance
JD

Question

I dont know about those, and I dont know about this, either, but I have heard that if you have a depth finder going when they use their radar or laser it will screw up their radar or laser gun. True or False, I dont know, but I've always wondered.

I run laser and radar often. I have never run into a jammer. I can tell you that laser is point of aim. I have not had the laser 'not' tell me the target speed. Everything I have hit I have got target speed.
This is not the case with radar. There have been many times I have not registered a target speed at the same distance, interval and probable speed of a target as the previous target. It just didn't pick up. I doubt that it was a jammer.
I have never seen a jammer and there is no law against it in Georgia.

P.S. do NOT be fooled by claims of laser detectors. The only thing they will do is tell you that you have been caught. Biggest garbage that I've ever seen. If I'm not aiming at your vehicle, you'll never know. If I aim at your vehicle without pulling the trigger, you'll never know. When I pull that trigger, you'll know...

lol murfster thought i might run into you. not really interested in buying one just curious--haven't had a speeding ticket in 30 years. just like to see if it is possible --murfster you ought to read the claims on these if true you might be being fooled after all--i really doubt it tho.
any more comments out there on these products. or on radar detectors like best one valentine, bel, or escort.

Ive got an old radar gun I picked up at an auction.. whenever I see someone w/a radar detector I flip it on just to watch em slam on the brakes... just for the fun of it.. If ya drive the speed limit you dont need any detectors or jammers, etc.

Cool

I'll chime in on this since I have some experience here. Murfster was right when he said laser detectors will only tell you when you are caught. The laser is such a narrow band that you can basically "pick off" any car in a crowd. By the time your detector senses it, I'm already calling out my traffic stop. They're junk. Also, here in Oregon, it is a crime to have any sort of radar or laser jammer, so check your local laws. I personally have never come across a jammer either.

Like Lok N Load said, Laser detector claims are complete BS. As far as radar detectors, I guess they work. I don't own one and haven't done any research. My opinion is that if it alerts the motorist of our presence and they slow down, then I've done my job.
It's kinda funny though, I have followed behind folks, seeing their radar detectors going crazy and they are still speeding. They were begging to get pulled over. They are not aware of what is around them (cop in rear-view mirror) or aware that the radar detector was not giving a false signal.

Concerning the jammers. Part of being radar certified is able to identify speeders by sight, hearing audible tone and verifying through the radar box. I had to identify speeds (without using radar) within 2MPH. After running radar for over 15yrs. I can identify speed without using radar. I use radar to validate my identified speed. So if it's a jammer in place, I still know that person is speeding. I will pull that speeding person over whether my radar showed indicated speed or not (using experience, training and environment).

I guess you guys never need to worry about a radar/laser detector. You have the best ticket prevention system ever designed. A badge.

Radar Jammers, or Lidar jammers... all junk. "Passive Jammers" don't do anything (hence the name "passive) and active jammers (i.e. jammers that actually emit a signal) are illegal in all 50 states. Bottom line is if you're gonna speed, it's your butt. It's a chance I'm willing to take, with or without a detector. Don't speed because you have a detector. Have a detector because you might speed. Has mine saved me before? yes. Have I still managed to get a ticket with it? 16 over, Phelps, New York, blind hill, keeping up with traffic on the t-pike. Busted! 4 points, 2 years... upped my insurance $800 a year! Oh, well. That's the price.
