As much as I dislike Obama, he's far from the first to have the questions already scripted for any interviews from him or any of the staff. The answers are also scripted so the White House makes sure you hear exactly what they want you to hear. Clinton, Bush, Reagan, even back to JFK.

Scripted questions are one thing... actually being in touch with a news organization during a show is another. That would be like Bush having Rove text Oreilly with answers during The Factor.

Did you read the article or watch the videos? We're talking about the White House texting the media on live TV!

I am not for any administration being in contact with a TV host for any reason, other than to point out a mistake one may have made.

I feel like I'm trapped in "1984."

This has got to be pretty confusing to Shultz listeners as well as other Air America listeners.

I've listend to Shultz every now and then. I don't think he's on my local progressive talk station any more. Now it's Randi Rhodes. Shultz is right in there with the far, far lefties. He was a big Bush basher and now I guess that Obama is just too much of a "cenrtist" for him.

Maybe he's jealous that the WH isn't calling him direct and enlisting him to be a direct mouthpiece for the administration.

Another thing that's funny about these progressive talkers; I and others are criticized for listening to conservative talkers. We are being told that they are right-wing media wacko's. I'd say that the big name conservative talkers base thier discussions on solid facts, that can be verified. The progessive talkers shoot from the hip. They make a stretch to say the least. I guess if you believe a skewed version of the facts, you might convince yourself it's the truth. See for yourself if what they say can be verified.

Regardless, the media is state run for the most part. It's clearly evidenced by the willingness to repete the sales piches, similar to the one that Axelrod was giving, every chance they get, conveniently leaving out crucial detalis.
