Is this a good deal?

Dads was the 4-seater model. To be honest I was maybe like 9 or 10 when he sold it so I don't remember to much about it. We used to go up about every other weekend though, dad was into aireal photography so he did a lot of that, I never missed a trip. I loved flying and still do.
How do you take pictures with a low-wing? If it weren't for all this government red-tape, flying would be a lot more appealing to the younger crowd. Now you have to spend and arm and a leg just to be able to fly >100 hours a year

Yeah, we didn't always fly the piper for photography, but I'm not really sure now that you mention it. Dads buddies has some 172 that we would fly also.
My father has lost that interest and gained it back into off-roading, but i try to get him back into flying. Like you said its just dang expensive anymore with gas prices and such. I know dad has license for planes and helicopters both, he actually was planning on going into the military flying helos, but then I came along and changed that for him.

Maybe by the time Oshkosh rolls around next year and we get sorted through all this red tape, I'll head up that way

Yeah i love air shows, but here in southern illinois we dont have any good ones close. Local airports around have a few small shows not much. Thunder on the Ohio boat racing always has a show, but the last few years haven't been great. Scott Airforce Base always has a pretty good one, last year drove up their stayed the night and it got rained out the whole weekend with no resechedule.
