I'm used to hearing much louder P&W jet engines.

I wonder who is going to buy it for what aircraft? I saw something about he CRJ, but that seems like an awfully large turbofan for a regional.

I'm glad the landing gear held up on that vertical landing, since I installed it.

I did a lot of structural and assembly work on that particular plane.

OK, Steath, I'll bite - What the heck is that thing sticking up behind the canopy that looks like a speedbrake? I'm going to guess it's some kind of cover for a low speed air intake, would that be right?

(It seems to be lowering in one clip as the aircraft is gaining forward speed).

That's just an inlet door for the lift fan.

Stealth's crappy cliff-notes version... On the STOVL (Short Take Off Vertical Landing) F-35 there is a lift fan right behind the c-ockpit that is connected to the engine with a jack-shaft and a clutch mechanism. When the clutch is engaged the doors for the lift fan open for STOVL mode operations. The engine outlet also vortexes down, and roll posts engage. Pretty nifty stuff.
