I have a 99 f250 with the 5.4 with 150k.sheruns pretty rough and noisy when I first start it up. Then when I drive a couple of miles it smooths out. It takes a little effort for it to fire up when I turn the key like the battery is dead but it will start after maybe 5 to 10 seconds. Even if I am driving for an hour and the motor is warm, when I stop and turn it off it will run a little rough all over again!

Anyone have any clue to what could be wrong?
I cant afford the 8mpg of my F250 and the slug 5.4. I love trucks and swore I will never own anything other. Ive had a 94 ranger, 02 F150 and than a 99 F250 and miss them all!!! I cant afford the gas and have traded the 250 for a Crysler Sebring When I get back on my feet I will be getting a Ford again, hopefully after I become a DNR officer I can splurge and get a 6.2 Raptor!!!
at least you finally solved your truck issues you did the right thing by replacing the nut holding the steering wheel

HAHAHA Thats hilarious!!!

A couple of months back I bought a 2 door Cobalt 2LT for my commute (140 miles each day).

I DID keep my 04 FX4 - There is no getting rid of it unless its for a new FX4

Well, let me start with saying. I have better things to do with my time than get on this site everyday. Now If any of you can remember, I am the one who had a seizure going 60 mph and wrecked my truck into a tree, leading to brain surgery and replacing my top two spinal disks with titanium. ALSO leading to me being declined to join the Coast Guard and serve you wonderful people. SO keep talking! Next, The insurance company only payed 6k for me and my personal disaster, just paying off my pride and joy. I do not know if anyone here is familiar with brain surgery, but it costs 250k not including the helicopter ride and the month in Johns Hopkins. That brings me back to my original point, the lovely government and medical assistance (what 20 year old has health insurance?) is now garnishing my wages. My sisters father owns a SMALL car dealership. He helped me out by getting me financed and no down payment for this car everyone on this website has a problem with. My four choices were a 94 neon that was neon green, a 96 toyota tercel, or a plymouth breeze. I think I made the best decision with my options. Go ahead A HOLES put your foot in your mouth now, better yet put them both in there.

O did I mention I was living with my girl, in our first place. I was a little to busy worry about the lights and staying warm.

Sorry for your health problems.

I had health insurance when I was 20. There's absolutely no reason not to.

I know people in their 30's without health insurance. Not defending the guy for not having it and understand how it can be a pain to afford if you're already having tough times, but can say I hope a break comes your way. Sounds like you learned a few things over the past year or so and will have to pay on it for a long time.

The last thing you need is a big truck payment with a bigger fuel bill. Get out of debt, dont listen to the naysayers and if the clunker last long enough.. buy a good used Ford truck with cash you saved instead of letting these lowlife dealers rip you off on interest.

The Sebring will be a reminder of where you dont want to be in the next few years. Use it for what it is.. a mode of tranportation. Good Luck.

I can completely relate to the no insurance thing - a few years back, I shattered my collarbone riding dirtbikes and had to pay for it all out of pocket (ER bill, x rays, pain meds, and about 6 visits to the orthepedic center). While that doesn't even compare to brain surgery I know how you feel.

So you gambled with your health by choosing not to have health insurance. Sorry, and sadly, it seems like kicking yourself in the nuts is a common decision.
