A little bleach the Gene Pool requires, Hmmmmm?

Care to bet he'll ignore all this advice and simply cut off the dang exhaust?

cheap way to make my truck loud

I was thinking about just cutting off my muffler and replacing it with a glasspack or somthing cheap like that then dumping it. I was just wondering what were your guys ideas about what muffler to use. I have a 2001 screw 4.6 thanks for any help.

In my opinion thats just another ticket waiting to happen. Theres a big differance between "loud" and the throaty roar of a quality exhaust.
A cheap solution is going to result in a poor quality end result. Just leave it the way it is until you have the money to do it right.
And then next time you want to race, take it to a track instead of putting your life and the lives of innocent people at risk. Your lucky all you got was a ticket !

I mean, damn, when I buy a $45k truck you actually expect ME to look at the window sticker? Geez...

The other thing that appears to be Unseen to this feller is the Stickies and the thousands of programmer posts, the user testimonials and reviews - and the button

what I wanted to post

"nope, no one else finds the check engine light an issue, in fact it helps us see the guages in the dark"

Not a bad idea! My lights in my Instrument cluster have been going out one by one. I could just leave the gas cap off, and then I can see the speedo better at night.

The only point i try to get across is that not everybody needs or wants that level of custom tuning. And that saying we dont tune trucks is far fetched.

*edit* I cant answer those questions, the engineering/tuning side of things is not my department. sorry
Guess it's time for reinforcements...

A friend sent me a link to this. All I can say is wow...I guess all these programmers need to start looking for new jobs.

http://www.f150forum.com/f4/performa...stments-63493/

I know modern on-board CPU's are pretty hard to mess with other than maybe a performance chip. However, I'm in a group with a bunch of computer nerds who find it challenging to re-write code and crack/hack software. It seems to me that I could plug my laptop into my F150's CPU adapter and run a certain software that will display all the factory settings. Then, I can re-program the factory settings to work for what I want to do. Example, increase the ignition timing curve or adjust EGR settings....etc. Anything out there that will do something like what I just described or we just handcuffed to the factory settings?

Thx,
Glenn
