Police chase F150...F150 wrecks...
#31
... A local cop almost got killed here the other day pursuing someone who came out of a drug house they were watching and then ran on a motorcycle. The cop was trying to pull him over for having no tag and I guess assumed he was a drug addict/dealer for being at that house. Stupid assumption. Now he is clinging to life. Is it worth it?...

Honestly If I were a cop and I seen him go down the wrong side of a one way I would have turned down the correct way in and just kept my eye on him. I know 1 vehicle going down the wrong side of the road is less dangerous than 2. I know the situation was set off by the moron in the F-150 but I know I wouldnt want to make matters worse if I were a cop. And when the cop first initially saw the F-150 pass by him why not give him a nudge from the side when he was waiting for him. Like a PIT maneuver. I'm not sure how long that chase actually ended but If he was driving like a tool for awhile I would have rather taken him out before thing got worse, which it did.

Absolutely. Had the driver of the truck Not run in the first place, there would have been No accident.
Despite what might have happened or not happened, had the police officer dropped the pursuit, it all boils down to the simple fact that none of the events that took place or could have taken place would have happened if the driver hadn't run in the first place .
There is only 1 person to blame for any of that situation.
I think everyone can agree and has, that those involved whether voluntarily or involuntarily are very lucky that the outcome wasn't worse. I was shocked to hear that there were no fatality's from the white car.

Would you want to purposely stick the front end of your car out into a travel lane and attempt to nudge a full size pickup as it flies by you at 50-60 or 70+ mph ? I sure wouldn't

I would have to watch the video again but, I was thinking that the cop picked up the speeding truck at an intersection. Now other then watching them on TV, I know very little about a pit maneuver but I don't believe that nudging him as suggested would have been the proper execution of one. Besides, look what the truck did to the white SUV when he stuck his front end out in the path of the truck.

Again, 88 and I seem to agree. Yes, the guy in the truck was an idiot and put lives in danger. Does that mean the cop should do so also? I have many friends who are cops, so I'm not bashing cops. I just think it made a bad situation worse in this case. It is irresponsible on the part of the cop in my opinion. Who knows though, maybe the guy running was an axe murderer. Short of that, I don't think there is any excuse to take things this far.
