Not completely sure what qualifies for 2 day shipping (everything, or just stuff sold by Amazon), though you'll notice during checkout.

As it says in the link, don't sign up unless you really are a student, or else they'll charge you the $79 for the year.

 

Just signed up but most of the books I bought were from private sellers, so they didn't qualify for the free shipping.
Oh well, still saved 2-3 hundred from what the university wanted.

 

 

I am not a student, but am already signed up for prime at the $79 price. With the number of movies and other things I purchase at Amazon, it is well worth it, and a big money saver for me. Just about all movies are eligible, and a lot of other things.
