Nicely done 1fast, I'm not nearly big enough to knock someone out with one punch, which is why I have the XD

Phase 1 of security upgrades is now in place...

I've got 24 hour a day access and motion sensitive recording set up, so even if nobody breaks in, I should be able to see anyone checking out the vehicles in the area. Hopefully it works as well at night.

It even notifies me via e-mail whenever the motion sensor is set off and includes a picture and video.

I've ordered the center console safe, hopefully that will be here within a week or so, and I've found a great deal on the Viper 5701 which I can link to SmartStart software with my iPhone.

Check out www.homecamera.com

I've still got to play around with the motion detecting software, but it's pretty cool. I might need to get a better camera for night as well.

Here's a quick sample of the motion detection videos...

Phase 2 of security upgrades now complete: locking center console safe.

Open (you can see one of the bolts that hold it in place):

Closed and locked:

I did lose the ability to use my change holder, and lost some interior space. It's a trade off I'm willing to take. Plus I plan on doing a little home surgery to the kleenex holder in the lid to make it more useful.

The Viper alarm system is on the truck to be delivered today, hopefully I can get it installed Wednesday or Thursday.

I also mounted the flashlight you can see in the first pic. I used to keep it in the center console, but it's too long to fit now.

Now all you need is a lock for the ice chest which might have played a part in the "window down " issue.

Sorry couldn't help myself...... looks good.

^ too true!

Got the Viper 5701 with remote start installed today. Works great and I feel the truck is a bit more secure now. I might add the iPhone control, but for now I'd rather keep the $300.
