2011 5.0>2011 m3

I know alot of people don't put too much value in what motortrend says, but the fact that they're even comparing the two is pretty cool, with the mustang having the advantage my a hair in the performance department.

The guy who test drives them both flat out says the mustang is better than the camaro. "Sorry camaro guys." haha It's pretty cool this mustangs bad. I hope no one has already posted this, i think its new. i know the compared the 2010 m3 vs 2011 5.0. Both are new models...

AND when they pitted the m3 against the audi rs5 and ctsv the m3 won. And it seems like the mustang is as good as the m3 and half the price!
Good Job Ford!!!

Holy Hell 40K for a Mustang GT. I guess the days of affordable V8 muscle cars are long and gone. Hell when I bought my '04 GT brand new I only paid 22,xxx.xx out the door.

You could say the same about F150s. I paid $29k OTD for my Harley Davidson F150 back in 2001, the 2011 HD F150 is what, like $52k...infaltion is a B....

They prob are over sad. But that's bc there getting left behind. The 2011 mustang is a lot more car than an 04 mustang. Just way more technology and niceties, interiors way way better. The 5.0 is 2sec faster in the quarter..

Everything is getting expensive as I'm sure you kno already. The cars are comparable but the 5.0 is 30 grand cheaper. It still pretty awesome! Your chioces: a m3 or 2 5.0's? Or. Just take that 30k and build the snot out od it!

The bast GT is $30k and offers more bang for the buck than anything on the market, including any F-150. The base Mustang is $22K and has 305 hp. You can't even get a decent econobox for that these days. I'll take my $34K GT Premium over the M3 ANYDAY!

I agree. I looked at a GT with the California Package a couple of weeks ago (19" wheels, Brembo brake package, etc) and it's sticker was 36,500. Not too bad for 412 HP and all the extra's.

Heck, my '07 Si was 22K and only has 197 HP and I've spent thousands getting it where I want it (suspension, brakes, engine, etc).

If I hadn't installed everything myself, I'd be right there at the GT price.

Most people look at the price and justify it over a top speed, ie: "This is XX cheaper, i could make it faster for less, etc" they dont realize that it may be twice as much, but instead of a higher top speed, it also has better suspension, braking, and overall performance. So by that measure, that 5.0L GT is one helluva deal!
