I just filled up my truck today and almost hit the $100 mark. $2.89 x 33.17 gallons = $96.17

I wish Texas was back to the $2.30s....those were good days...lol

What's sad is I'm 22, but I remember paying $1.1x when I started driving....

I paid $2.89 today with cash. It was $3.00 for credit. How do they get away with charging so much more for credit?

That's interesting. I've never seen or heard of that before, at least not at a gas station. (paying cash vs. Credit card). I know it cost companies to use credit card machines and all, but that's a significant discount. I'd pay cash too!

Yeah it's crazy. There's like six prices on each pump now. And it sucks when you realize you're low on gas and don't have enough cash on you.

i imagine they do that because people might go into the gas station to buy gas, and when they realize how much change they have they might decide "ohh i can get a dr pepper and a snickers" if you pay with card outside you never set foot inside, resulting in no extra sales

possibly

It's $3.09 here and I'm sick of it too. I put a blind fold on, insert card, pump gas, enter truck and remove blind fold.

I remember when

I heard my dad saying " It will be a cold day in Hell before I pay a dollar for a gallon of Gasoline". That was in '76 I think. The family wagon had woodgrained sides, a Chrysler Town and country. it was a 9 or 10 passenger family Truckster. With a 440 4bbl. Mom loved to "clear her out" as she said. Those were the days...
