Ferrari to name 2011 F1 car F150

I can see Ford asking them to change it or some type of legal action in the future over this.

Jesus, those Italians aren't very bright if they can't think up their own names

I don't see making much (if any) of a hassle since it isn't hyphenated

I'm wondering if I can haul 11,000 lbs in it?

Hmm...

I think it will pollute search engines when you type in f150... so if their are two vehicles named the same in "internet" lingo, because "-" isn't really a used search character...

I see Ford jumping on this just as Jeep did on the design of the Hummer grills.

Ford should just ignore it and let Ferrari honor Italy.

No reason to **** off all the Italians who buy Fords and have never heard of the Ford F150.

Besides, the inevitable comparison test on Top Gear will be awesome.

They better contest. they could lose the rights to the name if the don't.

They lost a name to Pep Boys that they did not contest some time back. If I remember correctly it was Futura, which Pep Boys had used in the name of a tire.

That is correct. They also lost the rights to the name GT-40 because they did not defend themselves against a company that makes re-pop versions. That is why the new version is called the GT and has a different logo.

They have been burned twice by not defending their names. There is no way they are going to lose the name on their most popular model. They might settle with Ferrari and lease the naming rights or allowing them to use it.

Ferrari has announced they will not use F150. It will be the Ferrari 150.

There's always been bad blood between Ford and Ferrari, so none of this is surprising.
