Panic!!! Help!!!

Sorry for the "panic" but it is legitimate. I received a speeding ticket earlier this month and completely missed my court date this morning! Anyone familiar with Texas or San Antonio stuff or just this case in general, please help. On the ticket it mentions "warrant for my arrest" and suspension of license and I'm in a complete panic frenzy now. I'm not a "criminal" I've just been traveling and lost track of the date. Please help!

I am sure there is a phone number on there to contact the court. If it was a speeding ticket, just pay the thing and it should be done. Most don't require you to appear unless it is for something stupid like 30 over or reckless driving. You might be able to pay it online even.

I'm not sure how TX does but in IL I paid the ticket online, took a class online and it never hit my insurance!

Call the court…now!

Better to contact them before they find you.

Seriously, it’ll only get worse as time goes on.

Usually you just get a bench warrent out for your arrest... which just means if a cop pulls you over and runs you in BCI you will come back with a warrent... and then they can legally arrest you and take you to jail and then you will have to bail out and then go to court for that... but usually there is like a grace period... today is wed and the courts should be open so just give a phone call to the city court that you got the ticket out of and just go pay the fine... and there shouldn't be any other charges or anything like that... good luck..

It amazes me at times of how a complete lack of simple common sense is so widespread in todays society and generations.
Figuring out what to do isn't rocket science and it doesn't even require a college degree !
Instead of wasting the time to make this thread and wait for replys hoping some stranger will tell you what to do, you should have just called the court and or the police department that issued the ticket and explained your situation to them.
Easier yet would have been to just pay the ticket when you received it !

People forget things. Ive done this same exect thing. Just give the court a call and you can get an extension on the ticket or just pay it outright. If you need some time to gather the funds to pay they will give you an extension.

On every speeding ticket I've received ( ) , there has been fine print that says that if your ticket isnt paid by your court date, a warrant *may* be issued at that time. If you're a day late, I doubt they'll want to waste their time arresting you. Just call and say that you can be there in 10 minutes with cash money and that you completely forgot. It shouldnt be a problem.

If they say that they have a warrant and will come arrest you....LOCK AND LOAD BABY

Just kidding.

Thanks for the very helpful reply. I suppose you are a perfect individual who has never had an oversight. I also suppose your "common sense" didn't read/notice the time of this post. Not too many courthouses I know of are open at midnight, which is the exact time I realized I had missed the court date. And being someone who is never in trouble, you can hopefully understand how the panic set in because I've never done this sort of thing.

What you also fail to understand is I was simply seeking advice during the time that I could do nothing about it. You don't think I planned to call the courthouse first thing this morning? I also sent them an email last night. All I was looking for is a general explanation of what to expect. But sorry to have wasted your time.

I meant to say thanks to the rest for the reassuring posts that I'm not going get hauled off or something. I'm calling the courthouse here in a few minutes and we'll see what happens. Thanks again.

The SWAT team wont be breaking down your door anytime soon

Just call and explain. You will either have to pay or they will just reschedule it. It's not like you skipped bail on a murder charge.
