What Jet Ski??
So I'm looking into getting a Jet Ski and saw a bunch of threads on pictures but not really on advice. I'm 21 y/o like to go fast and have been riding dirt bikes and quads since I was little I also have a 03 CBR 600rr but also remember I'm a college kid and looking to save my money lol.
I was thinking I could get a decent Jet Ski in the 3,500 4,000 range am I crazy?
What do you guys suggest?
Thanks

I agree with nightingale but at the same time...I am also 21 and looking into getting a jet ski. I usually borrow a buddies when I use one. I want to wakeboard in the surf, be able to surf at spots that you cant get to by land and use it for spear fishing/diving in the kelp beds. You could easily get a jet ski for that price. You might even be able to find a pair of older jet skis for that price. I was actually looking for them on CL today and saw some for cheap. It might be different for you since you live in NY, I don't know how popular they are there.

If you're wanting the most fun and the fastest, Polaris is what you want. They are reliable and pretty tough. Yamaha is a close second in reliability but they aren't the quickest. The Yamaha will ride easier though. There were some issues with the early Yamahas with the 3 cylinder engine. They had head gasket issues so if looking at an older one, look at the head gaskets to see if they have been replaced. Make sure to get a test drive BEFORE parting with any money.

man...do some reading. a good site would be pwctoday.com. a blanket statement like seadoo sucks or yamaha rules will never work with a pwc. there are two strokes and 4 strokes...for your money, you're looking two stroke. after that, there are tons of reasons one ski is better than another and you just figure out what works for you...i have a couple waveblasters(94 & 96) and a 98 zxi. love em. ski's can be like comparing a dirtbike to a suburban(most nowadays fit in the suburban category). whatever you get...make sure it's very well maintained. no matter what you buy, if it's not maintained, it will murder your bank account.
