Mobile bonfire= my bed on fire

had a bonfire pit in the bed of my truck saw ash blowing around thought nothing of it then it tiped over and i guess it had hot coals from the night before still and all the sudden i saw thick thick thick black smoke and flames above my cab. i pulled into a parking lot and saw a blanket was on fire in my bed i calmly took all the beer and whiskey out of the cooler i had and poured 10-15lbs of ice on the fire that put out the bulk of it then i poured root beer on the rest of the fire. also my bed rail was so hott it burned my arm when i poured the cooler on it. now i need some new camp chairs haha.

then to make things better my g/f locked the keys in the house it had the house key and my truck key. so had to wait 2 hours for my brother to come with his spare key.....

can anyone else say there trucks been on fire when they were drving it??

So you were hauling a bonfire pit in the bed and it tipped over?
Those pics look horrible.

I haven't seen carnage like that since that time I was hauling a portie-potty.

ok we had a bonfire till 4am LAST night and this morning at 11:30 AM i grabed it and threw it in the bed of my truck there were apparently some hot coals still left over and a 40mph wind in the bed made the bonfire pit tip over and spill the coals they landed on a blanket and some random cups and what not in the bed and the 45 mph air made the flames shoot real high when i slowed down it was nuts.

yeah i calmly took all 4 of the sam adams cherry wheat the half gallon of jack and the 5th of pariot bay out of the cooler along with the mason jar drinking mug and 3 shot glasses then poured the ice on. and used a whole 2 liter of root beer too.

nah i didnt think the thing would flip over in the bed and i figured it sitting doing nothing from 4am-11am there would be nothing left to be hott. i think im gonna put a fire extinguisher in my truck and make sure i pour water on these bonfire pits before i put them in my bed.
