Congratulations on joining the largest superpower in the world.

My AFSC would be 2a573b, or Integrated Flight Control Systems Craftsman.

Didn't know you were in Harleydude.

My job "rate" is Master of Arms. The job description is pretty much anything from anti terrorism to guarding oil refineries to being on a ship all the way to K9 duty<<< which is what im going to possibly pursue more. No signing bonus. Active duty 4 years, then 4 years of reserves ONLY if they call me. No 2 months out of the year BS like some other branches. I can also change my job after 2 years and retake the ASVAB to get a better score to qualify for a different/better jobs if I wanted. But right now, im happy. Im stoked to get out this town and do something ive been wanting to do for 2 years. I wanted to do MMA for 3 years, and im doing it. This is the next step in my life, and I finally manned up.

I also dont know where ill be stationed in. Boot camp is 9 weeks in Great Lakes, IL and A school is 7 weeks in san antonio, TX. After A school, there will be a dream sheet with every possible place I can be stationed at...inside & outside of the U.S. I pick my top 3.

Congratulations and thanks

Yea my foster is in the Navy. Went in Eagle Scout, did well in all his classes in A school and got his pick on a sub........in San Diego. Finished his A school and got his assignment and arrived in San Diego about 1 or 2 days after the sub set off for the east coast for refueling! About 11 months later he finally got to go to sea. Now his boat has been re assigned to the east coast, go figure.

Just so you know, if you change your mind, you can still back out. You gotta swear in a second time to make it official. Master of Arms is a terrible job, from what these guys tell me, they are on ships all day just correcting people on uniforms or to wash there hands.

But good luck!

Congratulations and a big THANK YOU for your service to our country.
I'm a former Army guy. Serving in the Army and taking advantage of all it had to offer, such as GI Bill college education, etc., was the best thing I ever did.
Good luck to you.

I seen you want to pursue K9, being here and seeing K9 here and actually get to have their dog in the CLU made me think how badass it would be to have a man's best friend to keep me company. I know at Bragg, K9 handler's are constantly deploying.
