The guy's a genius, I'm tellin' ya! Sadly, as genius often is, he's underappreciated.

I noticed that your 666th post mentioned MGD. Coincidence? I think not.

Fireflys

Like two fireflys in the night

These two lovers spark in delight.

To be so near, so close, so dear

To hold each other till daylight.

In their mind, they fly so high

Touching ceiling on the sky

That they may love each other alone,

Until the peaceful night is gone.

Pulsing, whipping, their wings flap

They as one together wrapped

In solo flight above the world

As their world dies....

Enraptured, they embrace...

One last smile upon her face...

Og: To me, the work you posted evokes a feeling of a dream...the kind of dream where you KNOW you're dreaming but you still question yourself because it's so real. Very nicely done!

Let's see some more, guys!

Thanks, dude. I've been working on this series since 2009. It's a tad bit refreshing to escape reality for a while, at least. Creating your own little world - it keeps me sane in this one! Looking for a literary agent/publisher. Again, I appreciate the encouragement. The way you interpreted my words was exactly what was happening. Motivates me to continue writing! - Og

Ode To A Flat Tire

O' flat tire, flat tire
Why are you so flat?
Your three breathren await to continue their steadfast journey
Yet you remain flacid so
Must I summon your brother, the spare,
neglected neigh these many years, psi unchecked?
Limited Use Only, though he may be
And shall your cousin Jack be arosed from his rusty grave this day?
Or shall I cry out to triple A?

It is my curse to be poet fair,
without mechanics skill or dare
And yet you still have three sides good
Perhaps to continue is what I should
Thou my destination's too far to see
ah what the hell, it works for me

Another cheery masterpiece from The Master himself! I think everyone has someone in mind while reading this one:

Ode to a Failure
==========

Years are spent
Gaining post-count
Licking the right boots
Watering the right roots

Gathering Groupies
Unwitting Acolytes
Blinded to the bigotry
Ignorant of the hypocrisy

Self-Righteous core
Narcissism rampant
Frothing fanaticism
Blatant favouritism

Beacon of Bigotry
Competence-free
Microscopic in scrutiny
Micromanager, certainly

Relying on Wiki
To appear less half-witted
The work of drones
Calling his own

Self-proclaimed Gearhead
Gearbox in truth
Imagined Composer
In truth but a Poser

Embarrassment? Aye
Liability looms
Fallen from grace
A total disgrace

Maskirovka in place
But protected, protected
Forgotton! the call,
But, not by all.

A couple more gems from The Master!

Exhaust Folly
=========

Suck, Bang, Blow
Combustion, you know
These urgent gases
Needs swift passage

Pundits, Noobs, Experts
Welders in thick skirts
THEY know what's best
And Screw all the rest

Alloy, Steel, Rust
No one can you trust
No one school of thought
With risk it is fraught

Pipes, Baffles, Bends
Lemmings and trends
I want it Loud!
Stand out from the crowd

Fart, Crackle, Pop
Oh, make it Stop!
The music you sought?
Cacophony you bought

Pissed, Mad, Distraught
All effort for naught
Around you is laughter
A Fartmaster Disaster!

Live, learn, Abide
Or, run and hide
Magnaflow Rules!
The rest are for Tools.

.................................................. ......

Those Crazy Brits
===========

Those Crazy Brits
Obese, lewd twits
Arrogant, rash
Opiniated, brash.

Consumers of ale
Chasers of tail
Beers by the flagon
Bellies a'saggin'.

Bangers and mash
Corned beef and hash
Fish & chips
Oh what sheep dip!

Overcooked roast
Yorkshire is toast
Culinary disasters
Just dying faster.

Doctors dismay
Cholesterol in play
Ticking time bombs
Walking on tombs

Royals are useless
To Commoners penniless
Haves and have nots
Mews and Ascot

Had once a Navy
Vast, underway
No longer a Dynasty
Now just a travesty

Rulers of earth?
Now just of Firth
Mired in the past
No Empire did last.

There persists for naught
Delusional thought
The everlasting folly
We remain just a Colony

The Scourge Among Us

The Scourge Among Us
===============

There has never been
A Generation so bereft
Self-absorbed, 'special'
No real respect

Coddled, shielded
From birth raised
Prince and Princess
Incessently praised

The parents at fault
For beggeting this ruse
These vessels are empty
Exceedingly Obtuse

The workforce they enter
Skillsets in tow
Clueless and wide-eyed
To them one must bow

Smartphones plastered
To oblivious skulls
Wandering aimleassly
About the halls

Tripping and falling
Colliding with others
No apologies given
Blame their mothers!

Sitting in meetings
Tweeting away
All focus lost
On business all day

Two weeks go by
They sit there aghast
They're NOT VP's yet?
Frustration, so vast!!!

Scourge, this be
A price ALL will pay
Millenials forsake
The Generation away
