I 'preciate the kind words, my good man!

However, I would respectfully and humbly concede that your one-of-a-kind writing style is as fine as it gets!

Yes, but nothing that can't be fixed with a few miles of Conway Twitty.

I'll be spitten beachnut with Hank Jr. in no time.

Don't he though? Although, I'm not sure what we had goin' on last night would be considered a 'sunshine-blowin' thread. More like a...ehhh....I'll drop it.

What about T.G. Sheppard? Few thangs er as fine as cruisin' downna road wif tha ol' gal a-side ye, 'skewer' in one of her hands, handin' ye a cold browny pop wif da udder'n, spittin' beechnut 'baccer juice in the floorboard, a-listnin' ta ol' T.G. sangin'....'those preacher's words could not be heard as Bonnie-Lou said 'come on in'

'Redneck' is an 'art' of its own.

Thanks for that link BTW, DSG! As time permits, I'll read up on that.

Welcome, Dewser!

Google Great Courses, check their website for available DVD/CD classes, then Google the class name filled by scribd and you'll find the PDF textbooks for most of those classes. Better than $24.95 or more for each class, and I can read it at my own pace

See thar? That thar's whut them fayncy city folk calls 'versatility'. Ye gotta be able to quote one of ol' Billy Shakespeare's sonnets and a Larry the Cable Guy joke with equal enthusiasm and fluency!

With a Redneck Central section we could have threads such as

"Got er Did--Dating Mistakes", "That's a Negative, Ghost Rider" a thread for trucker speak, and "Hey, Somebody Hold Muh Beer" for those stories just too bad for Gen Discussion lol

Late Lament: 1967

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white.
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion?
