Would you buy one? GM Colorado
There's been a lot of folks asking Ford for a medium size truck like the new global Ranger with a diesel option. Well yer not going to get one but GM apparently thinks there is a market for it. They are bringing the global Colorado to the USA with an I4 diesel making 280hp at about 350 ft lbs torque. I don't have any fuel mileage numbers but a certified engine in that class should give you about 30-35 mpgs hiway. So, considering it is a GM truck and it is a global platform, would you buy one?

The Colorado has more than enough towing capacity especially with the new 6 speed auto. The build is body on frame, not unibody. The new diesel drives like a diesel with not a lot available at idle but once up to about 1500 rpms it starts coming alive. It won't burn rubber but it will pull a load.
I'd suggest brushing yer teeth then. The new engine plant GM is putting the finishing touches on is scheduled to start dumping out the new Duramax 4500 V8 diesel in March that's scheduled to go in the early release of the 2014 Silverado. The model we saw supposedly has 350HP at 500 ft lbs torque. No fuel mileage numbers given.
but if they offered a light duty diesel in their 1/2 tons i may bite.
