How many miles have you driven?

Just out of curiosity how much driving do you guys do. I've been licensed to drive since November of 1962 and as close as I can figure have close to 1.5 million miles. At least 12 of those years I was driving professionally for one of the major oil companies. A few minor dent's and scrapes but never had a chargeable accident that required a report made. Hope every one drives safely during the upcoming holiday season and into the new year!

I have no idea how many since I got my license in 1957. A lot of miles was on company vehicles, but I know that since I bought my 2005 Ford ten years ago, I have driven a total of 246,600 on 3 trucks.

I drove company vehicles quite a bit myself. Almost have to guess or estimate the miles. I still can't get over the fellow that has over 3 million miles on his '66 Volvo that's a world record for a private use vehicle. That's 60K miles for 50 yrs and its still running!

I got my license in 1994 and would estimate I have right at 500,000 miles on 3 continents of left seat time.

I think I'm in the 1.5M range. Licensed in 1958. I worked as a temporary contract engineer the last 20 yrs of my career which took me all over the eastern half of the USA, about 30k miles per year during that time.

Lifetime miles I wouldn't have a clue, although it's got to be up there since most of the jobs I have had have required lots of windshield time. In my current job I would say I probably have around 230,000 miles -- 165k on my '97 Ranger, 30k on my '09 Ranger, 30k on my '97 Cavalier and easily another 5k on other miscellaneous vehicles. Of course, I'm leaving out all the miles I've driven in rental cars over my career -- God only knows how much that would be!

The good thing about the 230,000 miles racked up in my current job is that I got paid for every one of them! I think my mileage reimbursement started out at 38-cents per mile and is now up to 57.5-cents per mile. If I average that out at 47.75-cents per mile it adds up to $109,825.00 in mileage reimbursements over the years -- straight cash, Homie.......

I was estimating 30K miles a year for a little over 50 yrs for myself. Some years only 10 to 15K miles a year some years 60 to 80K. Most of my miles were logged from 1971 to 1983 driving tanker trucks. Sometimes it felt like I was driving my life away!

In Texas just visiting friends and neighbors can rack up a lot of miles!

Sounds like you and Bluejay started driving around the same time....cars were hand cranked back then probably! Too much traffic for me on the east coast. Wife's sister lives in Maryland and that's bad enough for me.

Don't know if I'll get to a million before they take my license.
Driving 44 years, I figure I'm in the 700,000 range.

Three speeding tickets, last one was in 1982.

North America, Europe and Africa I think it's in the 15- 20 country range. On the Autobahn I was in a 1.5L non-turbo diesel Renault Clio, what a piece of junk. I had my foot and to the floor for a looooog time. I got it up to 105ish and that was all it had then a VW Eurovan blew past me like I was backing up. The one time I didn't have to worry about the fuzz I wasn't in a car that was fast enough to count.
