Connecticut want to help in NYC ??

I am compling a list of supplies and resources that people are making availabe including labor/speciality labor from Connecticut. This list will be forwarded to a Connecticut Contingency group, and also a list in the city. Any Labor will require at least a 5 to 7 day commitment, with intense De-briefing after the fact. 14 hour shifts can be expected. I'll need contact numbers, Names, and any equipment or skills. E-mail me at tffperformance@snet.net

If I can't get down with my county I'll be honored to go with your group. Please help me get back home to help my fellow NY'ers. Thanks jstang - God Bless!

e-mailed you.

I'm surprised of the lack of responce from the people here, they must think I'm full of *****. hey look at the pics, if I can get enough trucks and drivers, I'm sure we would be used. I've been contacted 2 times already by the Office of emergency management for items I had stock piled last thursday, and was asked today if I could come up with 2000 prs of pull over boots, well, I got a commitment of 1000 pr , unfortunally the companys supplier only had 720, and I am awaiting 2 other local sources, so I may be back.sat or sun.
Let me tell you the are no pick ups anywhere there, no civilian vehicles at all within the last couple of check points, and they ever need any they will call, but I can't offer what I don't have, so I need some responces.

If I get 10 I will get it entered on the OEM database. Thanks again John.

From: Michigan Rocks and then some too!!!
Clean-up is an ugly task.
It will take people with GUTS!
I already thought about it, but being a single parent with two jobs plus, (one of which is 7 days) I have to do all I can from right here in MI.
So I challenge you:
Who near NY has the GUTS to get sweaty and dirty, seeing sights not fit for a human, working long days, to releive others that are doing the same? Only one woman? Sure she IS a superwoman, but you gonna let a woman do it all?
Speak up!

Thank You ATST - Now I'm turning to Chevy & Dodge owners too.

I thank you for your support & comments. I too had hoped for a better response. One of my biggest fears is that as news coverage dwindles & the shock wears off, we'll forget that the intenisty of the recovery operations will INCREASE - not decrease in NYC. There are still over 6,333 missing there! While many bodies will never be found, many will & those families deserve to have their loved one back to bury properly.
One last thought - we're going to be approaching winter rapidly! Many of you who live in warmer climates can't understand the bone numbing cold that this part of the country faces. Add to that snow, winds & shorter days & the recovery task has just become far tougher than it already is. The sooner these victims are found, the sooner much of the rubble is cleared away, the better for the rescuers. Do not forget - they are people too who have put their lives on hold for the sake of others - strangers for the most part who have become a family now. They have lives & families to return to. I bet the majority will not go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas or New Years - the task at hand will require their dedication far beyond those dates! This grim task will last thru the spring! Think of how all of us will spend our time during the changes of at least 3 seasons - fall, winter & spring & then remember how THEY will be spending theirs! Even most prisoners get more of a break from their routines that the rescures are getting!
Sorry - didn't mean to preach. I am now asking for Chevy & Dodge drivers to help too since I am unable to find any Ford owners locally who are able to go to NYC. Many are reservists & cannot leave - they're waiting to be activated. Some are just plain afraid. I will not give up helping jstang though - NYC is my home & I'm needed there. All of us are.
