Wink Something different to look at

The other night I was standing outside looking up at the sky, when I spied a Bat. Haven't seen them around for a while. Usually it's about mid May when I see them. That's when it starts to stay warm at night and the bugs are out. But the past year or so they have been sparse. Back when I first started taking photos I tried to get some of a Bat. I would look out my window and wait. When I spied one I would open the window and try to snap some. Because they move so quickly I would have to put the camera in manual mode, set the flash compensation, and put it on manual focus. It would take quite a few shots to find the right flight zone and get the settings about right. But once I did, I managed to get a few decent shots. The first three are from back in '07 and '09. At the time I was using a Konica-Minolta Z6 point-n-shoot. Worked OK. Then a few shots from '13 with my Sony A65 DSLR. You can see those much better. The Z6 was just a 6.6mp, the A65 is a 25mp.

That is incredible. Thanks for sharing. Awesome photos and a really neat creature to see in action.

Nice pics, that is one critter that has sure had it's reputation maligned. They are pretty cool to watch in action.
