They are at Bristol and the there is a door that opens and closes to let people in and out. When the door closes it is now the wall of the track. There were supposed to be bars that run down the rear of the door to make it strong and take a hit. The trackworkers forgot to put the support bars in. The guy blew a tire andhe hit it, the door flew open and the wall completely split the car in half. Like you would sawzall the car apart. The forse of the blow sent the car back down the banking with the guy exposed to the car coming at him. The other car hit right behind his seat. F'd up!! Guy's pretty lucky though. Not a scratch on the guy. Cars not doing so hot though.

Some driver i never heard of but Jay Sauter is the guy who akmost nailed him. Turn on Fox sports's nascar show right now and they might show it again. It will be on every channel once the news gets ahold of it. It's wild.

It was Mike Harmon. Unbelievable!! Same thing happened to Michael Waltrip several years ago. They need to do something about that gate.

I saw the pics on http://www.nascar.com

The gate is fine when supported. Someone forgot to do their job. Not good.

Yep, and he walked away with a few bruises. He later qualified for the Bush race. Simply amazing!

The jerk that didn't secure the wall/door should be looking for a job tomorrow.

You can still see the guy strapped in.

I was totally suprised when the guy unbuckled and jumped out of what was left of his car.

Wow. Not only is that one of the worst crashes ive ever seen... howd he manage to get outa the car with just a couple bruises? Hes one lucky guy. And yeah, as someone said earlier... the idiot who left the supports off the gate should be looking for a job tommorrow. If someone woulda died, that guy wouldn't feel too good of himself...

Yeah I seen that, that was crazy I could not believe he unbuckled himself and walked away. Dale Earhardts wreck was nothing compared to this one and he dies, man you just never know.

Since your talking about Nascar, I went to New Egypt Speedway last night. They had a big block mod 100 lapper with Tony Steward and Dave Blaney. Those 2 nascar boys went out, with every seeing the track went 4th fastest (Steward) and 8th fastest (Blaney). They didn't fail to rile up the crowd with their driving, both where spun out. And Tony every went as far to finger the offending driver, but I can report, no punches where thrown.
Glad to hear the drivers at Bristol are OK. And I saw Michael Waltrips crash live and couldn't believe he was ok after that crash. Just goes to show you that those are some well built cars!
