Cool Florida Voters...

Hey Florida! Guess what? My state just had its primary election. Like yours, we had a shortage of poll workers, so they called the National Guard and asked for volunteers (all poll workers are paid volunteers, btw) and got all postitions covered.

In my state, polls are supposed to close at 6 pm, however, policy is to keep the polls open so long as there are voters in line. So, the last poll closed at around 7 pm. They don't release any results until the last person in the state has voted. The first print out was released about 10 minutes later. This included most of the absentee votes that were cast or mailed in by Thursday. Two hours later, they released another printout with close to 50% of the results from the precincts.

The third printout at around 11:30 included all the votes except for the last of the absentee votes received up until 6 pm that night.

For all intents and purposes, the election was over at 11:30. At 2:00 am, the final results were posted.

It took my state a total of 7 hours to complete the count. They promise that the General election will be even faster. The slow down was caused by the new transportation vendor. The previous one used taxi cabs to deliver the ballots. The new one used school busses to go to the various places to pickup the ballots. No such thing as having a polling worker take the ballots home for the night like they did in Florida. Staff shortages were handled by the National Guard.

Oh yeah, we don't use those fancy lcd touch screen voting terminals. The whole state uses paper ballots and optical readers.

Not bad for the youngest state in the union which has been dominated by liberal Democrats for the past 40 years, huh?

Hey Dennis, good to hear from you again my friend. That is excellent your state is so squared away.

Why don't your liberal Democrates go down to Florida and teach their liberal Democrates how to actually conduct an election. It always seems the Democrate domonated areas in Florda can not seem to understand how to conduct an election. It is either a chad problem or something.

Oh, wait a minute, how can I be so stupid? Of course it's someone eles's problem we are talking about liberal Democrates here and that's there moto: "Not are fault, someone or something else is the reason for the problem"

Maybe they get to much sun during the day, or drink to much orange juice in the morning. What is funny as hell is down there they have a completely run by Democrates election (the area's with the problem) in other words its Democrates that run the polling booths, the registration of their county voters, the ones voting and running are Democrates but yet they "blame it" (see moto about) on the Republicians

For some unknown reason they can't seem to read the instructions, they can't seem to understand the instructions, they don't seem to understand "basic election procedures" etc. Hmmmm and they say there is nothing wrong with the current education system, makes you wonder if they have many brain cells left oh, thats right MORE MONEY for education will solve the problem, hell you can use it for vote buying

Dennis, you just knew I would have to answer your thread. All in fun my friend...

Talking

Anyone who 'pays attention' to current events knows that it was Democrats who flubbed up in the recent Florida primaries. Let's tell the 'whole' truth D, and not 'part' of the truth. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Frank S:

I am going to have to come to Dennis's defence here.

It took me some years, ALOT of years to come to the conclusion of just how liberal Democrate act, behave, their instincts, their natural habitats, etc. I should be doing a show for "The Discovery channel" however I don't have the funds for an important public education show.

I think I have linked their (liberals) problem to the incubation period (9 months prior to birth) I believe that during this time a gene malfunctions. I currently have it figured to occur at approx. the second trimester, or at approx. 30 to 33 weeks into the development stage.

The gene, named "Xcospinandeniabilityfognhazeitpin" better refered to as "Xspin". This gene is a malfunction from the gene "Ydtruthcountabilityx" better known as "dtruth" what happens, at least in lab test, is normally the gene "dtruth" travels in a direct path of clear fluid to the infant brain. However, when this gene, for reason currently being stuided in the labs, have to take multiply paths and which is so done in fluid that is hazy it causes it to degrade and by the time it arrives at the infant's brain it has formed into the gene "Xspin"

What we have proven in controlled clinical test is that people that have the "Xspin" gene can never seem to relay a simple story in its true "printed and/or video" version. In other words what we do is for example give them a "fact" to read.

One example is "The house is 2 stories tall, it has 6 windows in the front, it is painted white with black trim, and there is a small dog our front tied to the tree with a safety chain"

Here are some samples we get from the people with the "Xspin" gene:

sample 1
"A rich Republician owns a huge manshion, about 10 stories tall. It has 40 - 60 windows just in the front. Its painted with real gold and there are 10 HUGE dogs guarding it because the guy is loaded with cash"

sample 2
"I don't quit remember, there was a lot of gray area, and there was a moose hanging from the tree"

sample 3
"It's to nice of a house and I don't have one like that so it's not fair that anyone else has one either"

Now is one sample from a person with the "dtruth" gene. the reason for only one sample is because all the people with the "dtruth" gene gave the same replys.

sample 1
"The house is 2 stories tall, it has 6 windows in the front, it is painted white with black trim, and there is a small dog our front tied to the tree with a safety chain"

Our study has further concluded that the majority of people, well in fact just about everyone we studied with the "Xspin" gene turn out to be liberals.

So you see, it's not really their fault. It happens prior birth

Now watch, some of them will use my study as an excuse for "spinning" the truth.

Re: Florida Voters...

I am very disappointed in Florida's election performance. I'm not really sure who is to blame, Jeb Bush says it's the precinct election officials' fault, others say its all Katherine Harris' fault, and a majority of the precincts say it's their workers' faults (for not showing up). Regardless of who is "mostly" to blame, I find it very frustrating that everyone involved wouldn't pull double or triple-duty to ensure that everything was A-OK long before the Demo primary.

I really don't see what party affiliation or conservative/liberal has to do with any of this. I have liberal friends, and I firmly believe they hold close to their heart the importance of proper election procedure. I'm sure they feel the same way about me. What does liberal or conservative have to do with a clusterfuc$ed administrative bumble?

I would also suggest that the Democrats really weren't primarily responsible for the previous election fiasco. Many lawyers who I work closely with (who are Democrats) were very unhappy with the direction everything was going. Remember Terry Clark was a Democrat, as well as Judge Sanders (Saul). I think the specific people to blame are the self-centered individuals like Jesse Jackson and David Boes who saw nothing wrong with milking the moment. And you have to lay a serious amount of blame with the renegade Florida Supreme Court (many of whom I think should be removed, as well as David Boes be disbarred for misrepresenting a court case).

Even at that, however, I still suggest some Democrats shined brilliantly at that time. Chief Justice Charlie Wells (Democrat) issued a scathing dissenting opinion with the Florida SC ruled for Gore. Also, Barry Richard (Democrat) was the lead counsel for the Bush Administration. His incredible oratory skills and dedication to the Constitution shows that regardless of party affiliations, some people hold themselves true to a higher dedication.

Anyway, not all Democrats (or all liberals) are bad, just the stupid ones.....

Lightbulb The Real Problem in Florida

All it takes is to have a state elections official who actually knows his/her job and plans ahead for all possible problems. That's what my state has. That's what most states have. Unfortunately, that's what Florida lacks. It was Jeb Bush's responsibility to have in place an elections officer who actually did his or her job.

The buck stops at the Governor's desk and Jeb Bush failed. The worst part about Jeb Bush is that instead of taking the responsibility for the problems, he played the old blame game. It's not the fault of the precincts. It's the fault of the State of Florida because the present administration didn't know how to run an election, didn't plan for any possibility of problems, and didn't properly supervise the precincts. Florida's election officer should be fired for doing such a lousy job. Florida's governor should also be fired for allowing two election cycles in a row to end in controversy and disarray.

It's management's fault for not training poll workers. It's management's fault for not staffing the polls. It's management's fault for not planning ahead.

It just goes to show you that just because you have a Republican Governor doesn't mean they know how to run anything. Shoot, Jeb Bush can't even keep a handle on his kids, how do you expect him to run the whole state??!!

It's not a question of politcal party. It's a question of qualifications, competence, and management ability. Hate to say this, but it looks to me like Florida elected more than its fair share of idiots...

Hey Dennis, Have you ever been to Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach county?

The traffic lights don't even work right down there. Their problems are far deeper than the Supervisor of Elections. Here in Florida it is the responsibility of individual counties to oversee the elections process. I know it would be nice to tax everyone again and create a new State Government office to oversee that.

There are 67 counties in Florida, three of them can't get their act together. Those three counties are very very liberal democratic. Full of New Yorkers, Cubans, and all sorts of other transplants. I can't even stand to drive through those counties.

Remember the whole mess started with the media in 2000. They reported Florida winning before the counties in the central time zone completed voting. The hanging chad, recount debacle came in the days and weeks after.

This time it was Janet Reno throwing a fit. Bill McBride won from the get go. This was strictly a democratic ticket in a democratic primary. There were no problems with local voting just the one in the limelight. Why did Janet Reno expect to win after what happened with Elian Gonzalez? She broke our constitution and returned the kid to Cuba. The only reason she ran was because she was pissed about the 2000 election and thought she could "fix" Florida since she lost her old job.

Janet Reno is best suited to be in laxative commercials and nothing more.

Bill McBride seems alright for a democrat. Jeb will probably win again.

Dennis, being in the business you're in I am very surprised that you are as liberal/democratic as you are. Myself being in the same business I must say I was on the fence in my younger years until I realized that all of the taxes I get stuck with and laws that are against me are sourced by liberal minds. I just can't be a communist. I say the cream floats to the top, not that everybody should be the cream. Capitalism rules this country. Especially here in Florida.

Things could be much different in your part of the world.

I heard California is trying to pass laws banning smoking in a private residence. It sounds far fetched but it would not surprise me a bit if they tried.

Re: The Real Problem in Florida

Dennis

All I can do is repeat what one of the supervisor of elections stated when asked why they didn't plan for such things, the official stated, "How do you plan for 50 workers not showing up for work one day?" It was simply a clusterfu$k as I said. I will say if it were me (as Gov.) I would have rode the backs of everyone to make damn sure the whole thing worked, but that's just me.

As far as firing Jeb, that's an interesting concept. I will suggest regarding the previous fiasco that every state is just as bad with respect to Florida. Every state that uses paper ballots has problems (and will have uncounted votes and hanging chads), it is just that the spotlight hasn't been shined on anyone but Florida.

If you recall, the problem with the election started as follows:

1) A new ballot was developed for PB County that (albeit maybe not the best design) was legal, and was designed by a Democrat with nothing but good intentions,

2) A bunch of stupid, OLD Palm Beacher's got "confused" by the ballot. But they didn't say anything whilst in the election hall, they purportedly filled it out, left, and then realized they did it wrong later,

3) The election came down to the wire,

4) A bunch of vultures swooned in using the stupid PB'ers to get a news story. Pretty soon, Jesse Jackson was here, and there was a concerted effort to disenfranchise, etc. etc.

5) Every single vote had to be scrutinized....

You made me think of something you may find interesting, re/"liberal/democrat" and "I just can't be a communist." I believe it was Buckley that stated in a book he wrote a few years ago that liberals aren't really "liberals". Conservatives are the "liberals", and liberals basically stole the title. Conservatives by nature are the truest "liberals."

For example, "liberal" in concept essentially means to respect any viewpoint (albeit respect for the viewpoint is not warranted without some support with empirical statements). Liberal these days means that there is some sort of "accepted" liberal viewpoint, and they purport to be open-minded to any viewpoint, but that's only so long as you adhere to the "right" viewpoint, if you get my drift.

Therefore, they don't (and aren't) informed with facts. They very rarely understand the true nature of the subject matter. They just "support" a position, simple as that. There is no point in arguing with them, because debating is really the sharing and exchanging of facts and their application to an argument.

No need in arguing the facts with D. He sees things as he wants to see them, and that is it. Been going on since '99 on here.

You got it right, the blame game, That is about all that liberals are good for. They have no ideas (excect more money), they strive to keep the weak, weak, the uneducated, uneducated, people in low income, in low income. It is how they maintain power. You see most the people the liberals represent are stupid and numb, they don't have a clue of whats going on and they are easily brain washed. Point, how many years have the liberals been trying to help the homeless. Answer NONE they don't care its an issue to keep them in the streets. How many years have the liberals been trying to help educated kids. Answer NONE they don't care keeping kids as stupid as possible is an issue for them. How many years have the liberals been trying to help the elder. Answer NONE, it's an issue.

Everytime a new idea is brought up the liberals pull out the tissues to go along with their tears and say "Oh my God" they are taking an issue away from us, we may lose are power base.

It's easy for the liberals to blame others for their stupid actions they take, its easy for liberals to call others names, etc. What is very hard and yet to be done is for a liberal to come up with any type of idea that begins to register as "possible good" its always more money for this and that.

Here we have again, a whole county of democrates who run the local election, polling booths, and vote and can not for some reason get it right. Yet with this whole neighborhood filled with democrates that are honestly uneducated they want to go and blame someone else for their stupidity.

Sorry Dennis this is not "management's fault". When management shows an employee how to do a job, gives them lots of training and they still can't get it right then its the employees fault. Most likely because the employee is so stupid and numb they just can't seem to grasp reality. Give the counties one more try to get it right. What your saying would be equal to going to Buger King buying a wooper, find thats its cold and then blaming the share holders for the moron who don't know how to cook the hambuger. Get rid of the cook, hire one that knows how to cook, thats how management solves problems. It isn't Jeb's problem.

Why bring Jeb's family into it at all. Don't you recall we had a Pre's that smoked dope, but didn't inhale, couldn't quit get mr. ***** satisfied? And you talk about someone that can't take care of things. Hell Bush is taking care of the terriost problem that Clinton was to busy for (Monica) and also has to try and repair the economy that was left by Clinton, you know the Clinton recession. caused in part by all his HUGE tax increases
