Okay - anyone going to Cedar Point HAS to request their Summer Getaway magazine. I just got mine - it has discount coupons, maps, camping & hotel sites - TONS of info for this trip! Even if you weren't planning on going to the park it's a good idea to get it for the maps alone!
Just go to www.cedarpoint.com & you can request it online - it's free!

Thumbs up

I still need to go there myself but from what I've been told it is MUD and some trails and more MUD, not much in the way of hill climbs, and more mud. This is the best description i've had.

Also anyone who is attending please fill out the form at www.fanof150rally.homestead.com so that I can get an accurate count on vehicles and people. This is a private property owner so obviously he will want to know how many people will be showing up.

Did i mention there is supposed to be some mud there.

I hope my Goodyear Rt/s's can handle it. I knew I should have bought that set of BFG 285's this weekend.

Oh let me mention this. Again from what I'm told, the property owner has a tractor that can be used for emergency stucks. That is if the other 25+ trucks that are scheduled to be there aren't enough to get you out.

sprhck - I had those Goodyears originally, and they still allowed me to be a demon in the fields. Besides, I have two tow straps and two loggin chains. I love to pull people out (and take pics for later use!)

Chris, the camp grounds are about 3 miles from Cedar Point. We're working on getting a group discount and blocking off an area just for our clan.

I don't think it's even that far... it's only 3/4 of a mile from the causeway... OK, so the causeway's probably around 2 miles long... could be... still count me in for Sat and Sunday... still not positive about Friday or not... depends on work.

Hey, JMC... would you mind if I ride the trails shotgun with you? I don't plan on taking my baby to the trails, but I'd still like to go with someone... I'll even help dig you out if you get stuck...

If not, no big deal...

Hey Big pa s or Mr Scot I saw on the website that you have me listed as going. I'm sorry but I can't make it. 1st thing is that I probably won't have the money to drive out there, everythings going into the truck right now. Pea harvest usually starts about the week before that so I'll be busy at work. Also the 23rd is my birthday so even if I did manage to get a couple of days off about then I would most likely have other plans. Wish I could make it though. Maybe we could set up something with Iowa, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois at 600 acres sometime in the next year. I'll be looking for pictures when you guys get back.

Hey, who's doing the campsite reservations? Are you working on that BigPa, or are we going to need to make the individually?

Also, I think my baby's going to stay in the parking lot. I'm still not liking the idea of taking it through the mud. I'm more than happy to ride along, though. Heck, I haven't got 4400 miles on it yet... it's still too new for me to mud it. Maybe next year. Of course, maybe I'll throw a temporary tag on the explorer, borrow a trailer for the weekend and thrash it around for a bit... the tires are about 3/4 gone, though... and not very good in the mud to begin with...
