question about rds & audiophile stereo

I just purchased a f150 sc and on the sticker it shows 6cd w/mp3 and below that audiophile, im assuming i have the audiophile stereo. In the manual it shows you can access the rds info on the radio by going through the menu settings, when i go through these i have no rds settings. Do i have the wrong radio ?, can someone with the audiophile head unit confirm if they have this setting in the radio menu. Thanks

front of radio is the 6cd w/mp3 markings and the folder select buttons for the mp3, I noticed on kbb.com there are 2 radios available with the 6cd and mp3 (item 586 & 91-p) it shows the audiophile requires the 91-p, and according to the manual the audiophile stereo has the rds capabilities. Kbb info below;

586 Radio, AM/FM Stereo w/6-Disc CD Changer in Dash & MP3 255.00 300.00

91P Radio, AM/FM Stereo w/6-Disc CD Changer in Dash & MP3 255.00 300.00

58B Radio Equipment, Audiophile • FX4, Lariat 213.00 250.00
(N/A XLT or King Ranch) (Req's Radio-91P) Includes Subwoofer.

hmm

That's odd.. by all rights you have the same system I do and therefor should have that feature. Might want to consult the dealer on that one, or pull the HU and find out which model you have that way. Would remove all doubt ya know?

My 05 Super crew came with the wrong radio, should have Audiophile but the head unit in the truck does not have the hook up for the Audiophile, rds is not on the non audiophile radios and seat position also is not on the non Audiophile, the owners manual explains all the menu options on the radios try cranking the volume a little and listen under the left rear seat to see if the sub is working, my dealer has the correct (I hope) radio on order

To access the rds function you have to press and hold the menu button a few seconds. It took me a couple of tries to figure it out.

Question Rds

My 2000 Lariat S/C has a radio with an RDS button. The manual says to hold the menu button down to access the RDS functions...but there isn't a MENU" button. When I press RDS it says select HOUR, if I press again it sasy select MINUTE...no other options...

??

minimustang....they are talking about the newer F150's. I dont think the 2000 model had that capability of the factory sub.

I was referring to using the RDS system, you're right my '00 doesn't have a sub, but I wasn't concerned with that anyways. I popped out to the truck last night after reading another post re:RDS and figured out how to enable it. Not in the user manual that came with my truck...at least not the method that worked with my radio.

Thanks

I have an '05 F150 and installed a '06 audiophile radio because I added the factory sub.

When I hold the menu button down withe the radio on and on an FM station it says "RDS OFF." When I go to turn it on per the owners manual using the seek or tune buttons it doesn't swap to say "RDS ON"

Am I missing something?
