Then I went to the pioneer head unit and under settings i changed the background to VIDEO mode and then just picked the picture i liked and left my zune pluged into the cigg lighter in the back where you cant see it.
OK.. I am getting it.. Add a Ipod or a Zune to the AV ports on the Back so that I can get pictures for back ground.. Few questions..

1- Is there anyway to do the same with the already installed USB port??
2- Can you atleast use the USB for power for the Ipod/Zune??

Do you know if this fits all f150 models? I have a 1997 and it would be amazing if i could have that in my truck.

Im thinking to get me this headunit too. If im not wrong then u should be able to put a different background picture/video on display. Now maybe u know this or tried this out. My question. If I put a different background picture on, can I still navigate in the menu, or play audio from the radio/ sirus or/mp3 from a external source? OR will the set background source disapear and the factory background will pop up?

another questions, are the buttons to the left touch screen kind of buttons?

and last question. ur bypass switch. Is this for the video source? like bypassing the normal reavcam setup?

thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "touch screen type buttons" but they are not apart of the screen but individual plastic buttons.

The bypass allows the DVD to be used while in drive by simply conecting the green and I believe black ground wires to a push button switch.

Was your stock unit part of the Audiophile system? Iam installing the same unit and want to keep my stock speakers and factory sub, any ideas? Does someone make a plug and play adaptor? Thanks!

Is there a guide to taking off the bezel to install the headunit. I bought this unit the other night and will be installing it thursday. also is the aftermarket metera brand harness for pioneer decks compatible with this?

Funny i never even saw this forum before i just liked that pioneer deck. it turns out a ton of f150 owners also do

thanks

Is self installation easy or does it require a professional install. Also please recommend a compatible backup camera for the Pioneer.

I got mine for Christmas as well and installed it the other day. Man I love this thing! I'm a little let down that the iPod album art doesn't show up like it does on the Kenwood DDX512dvd I put in the wife's Explorer a couple months ago. I guess my other complaint is how it goes into "demo mode" at certain times. It just gives it kind of a "cheap, unfinished" feel to it. Other than that I love it. Sound quality is far and away better than her Kenwood too. I want to do away with my seperate XM tuner I have mounted to the dash for a completely clean dash by getting the XM adapter, but I transfer that tuner back and forth with my Jeep all the time and I'm too cheap to buy a second subscription....I'll revisit that in the future though.

I mounted the bypass switch it that completely useless "storage bin" under the pop-out cupholder tray. However I think I used the wrong type of switch (bought a momentary, normally open switch from Radio Shack) because I have to push it in and then hold it in for the DVD to play. Strangely enough, even when it is on iPod, CD, or radio, I have to hold it in to allow me to adjust the screen brightness and contrast. So I guess I need to replace it with a normally OPEN switch? I think I have a couple laying around, so I'll have to try it out when I get time.

Ooops, I just re-read my post for the first time and noticed that...I meant "closed" but typed open. I replaced it the other day and all is well.
