Pioneer AVH-P8400BH install

Just bought a new P8400BH off eBay for $490. It should get there on Tuesday, but I'm out of town and wont be back until the middle of the following week. I also have some 6.5" Rockford Fosgate T165-S Components I think I will put in the same time. I figured I would post pictures of the install when I get back.

This forum seems to like pictures of installs.

Just put the new HU in. I will be putting in the speakers tomorrow hopefully.
Here's some pics of the HU.

A little dusty in there.

Finished!

Bueno!

It looks good man. I have the same Pioneer series unit. I am totally pleased with the quality, fit and finish and features the radio has. I know you will enjoy yours as well. Did you install a back up camera too?

Crutchfield.com has a harness for factory subs.
Here you go. This is what you will need.

Did you use a wiring harness?
Did you need to get a mounting cage, Crutchfields setup includes that, but looking at your pictures I can't really tell if that is needed or not.

Thanks!

I recently bought and installed this unit.
It's really straight forward, get the wiring kit and the cage.

Now for an operational review. It is a nice unit ,however here are a couple of things that don't work so well.
When in the iPod input mode, switching between listening to music and the app screen causes the audio to pause for a bit.
When you are browsing the Songs from the head unit, some podcasts get mixed in with the songs.

Yes there is an aux port but its in the back, so you would probably need like a 6ft aux cord. It comes with a usb exstension you can hook your iphone up to, and you can also stream over bluetooth.
