who has a CB?
I'm getting ready to install mine and i can't really find a good place to put it. If i hand it from the bottom of the dash it's hard to reach. I thought of hanging it from the front of the center console but that won't work. Hmmm.....? Also, is there any other way to mount one without drilling holes into the dash? I hate to do that and then have to try and sell it with 2 huge holes in it.

I have a CB radio. A nice Midland with a detachable face and running two trucker antennas off my roll bar. I came up with a rather interesting way to install mine....
First, I ripped out the ash tray. Well more like removed....
Then I wired up the CB Radio in that spot. This did require drilling and bolting on the CB radio mount thingie.... It also allowed me to wire the CB radio using the cigarette lighter wiring. (I have a second power port in the dash)
Then I took a small sheet of nice looking plastic (1/8") and cut it to the size of the hole where the ash tray use to be. Then of course, I cut a rectangle out in the middle of that for the Radio to stick out. Then I bolted it up to the dash with some nice screws. Looks really sharp and IW as able to attach the speaker mount to the plastic.
I know it's not easy to see in the picture, but you can kind of see it here....

I bent two metal brackets I got from Lowes. About a 45 degree angle. Slid them under the center console and screwed them in to the floor. Mounted the radio to those brackets. Its on the end of the console but angles up nicely and I can reach it. No visible holes anywhere.
Also used allen head screws for attaching the radio. Anyone trying to steal it will need some time. Its mounted well.

I have a Cb and a scanner. First I installed the CB at the very bottom of the dash under the radio and AC right above the black heater area. The holes cannot really be seen at all and with the bracket it is the perfect place for a CB. I installed the scanner on the floor on the passenger side of the tranny facing me with an external speaker screwed onto an after market tray in the middle Hump under the CB. I mounted the antenna inside the box on the lip, yes I drilled holes. I then bought a tool box and mounted it on that, this works much better and it sits higher. My NEW setup is different still. I have hand made a center console out of 1\8 plywood and covered it with aftermarket carpeting. I mounted the CB and scanner in it with a GPS below it and all my external electronics are wired through the fuse block that I mounted inside the console via a flip up lid. I just sat the console on the center hump screwed it in in 2 places and ran all wires in the back of it and underneath. It was really fun and pretty easy to do. I will try to get pics as soon as I can. BTW, in my 97 there is a plastic seal thing in the back of the cab that I rqn the Cb antenna through and then went through the plastic cap in the bed--absolutley no holes in any sheetmetal in the bed or cab to route the antenna, all you have to do is move the plastic piece on the back pillar and reach back there and poke a hole in that plastic.

I finished installing mine two weekends ago. Sorry, forgot to post about it. I built a wood bracket that the CB is bolted to and then i drilled some holes in the bottom of the center console and i bolted the wood frame to that. I put a hinge onto the frame so that i can angle the CB upwards toward me. It's pretty cool. I don't have pics and won't for a while. It's nice because it's out of the way and people can't see it and won't try to thieve it. I'll draw something up in MS paint so you get a better idea of what i'm talking about.
