Once Again - Custom Seat Covers for KR?

OK all. I'm headed back into the high country for some down time. This means everything from tree bark to mud in my interior. This, in turn, means yet another weekend spent detailing the truck when I get back. I would REALLY like to find some custom seat covers for this sort of short-term engagement. Anyone had any luck at all? My Internet searches and poking around town have produced nothing I'm willing to lay down $$ for thus far.

Thanks as always...

I usually use an old t-shirt pulled over the back, and a towel on the seat.

Not very high tech, but it works.

Ha! Sometimes the best solutions in life are the simplest and least expensive.

I would go for the ultra generic cheap stretch pull-over covers on ebay and just use them for those trips only. I wouldn't want to hide that awesome leather otherwise

No intent to hide! Just wanting something that won't be such a bad fit that it's more trouble than it's worth. If I have my way, the number of days per year I spend needing to cover my seats will steadily increase and approach at least 180 out of every 365!! For now, just 30, 45 or so...

From what I see online, the head rest part is what looks the most suspect in terms of fit? That makes me question the rest.

I was looking at Cabelas website and they have some for $20. Has anyone tried these?

The Cabela's store here in North Texas has an F150 in the auto section showing off various cool accessories. I believe they have a set of "Seat Gear" seat covers ,which look as they fit pretty good (especially since they aren't custom). I bought the rear seat cover for when my dogs travel with me, and it works pretty good. Easy on, easy off, and stores rolled up under the rear seat.

Make sure the seat cover is water proof. You don't want water getting trapped under the seat cover.

Yeah, that is an important one. I'm thinking those neoprene jobbies might be good. I'm pretty big into fly fishing. I'd love to be able to fish a section of river, jump into the cab with my wet waders on, and move on to the next stretch. I wouldn't even think of doing something like that without good water proof covers...

Wet Okole

I put Wet Okole covers in Advantage Timber camo in my KR. I think they look great (they match the KR interior colors really well), and they are waterproof. These are mainly for Texas summers (max UV) and deer-hunting season. I'll take them off from January through June. They would not be that hard to put on/take off, though, and the fit is perfect, including the head rests and the console lid.

Pricey, though, about $550 total for the front and back sets.

Hope this helps...

Ouch! Pricy is right. I'll have a look, though. They sound interesting.

Very impressive outfit! I liked their front covers and decided to take the leap and order them (you can cut that price in half by cutting the order in half). If I like them, maybe I'll go with the back set too for when the kids are back there. But my main goal is to be able to go into the back country and not stress out over what I or my camp partner might inadvertently be doing to the front buckets.

I had to call for a little guidance on placing the order. Very helpful, knowledgeable guy on the other end of the phone. He knew exactly what a King Ranch was and gave me two colors to choose from as the best match for the tan interior (and he knew there were only two colors for this interior).

If I like the product as much as I like them so far, it'll be a good deal. Not cheap by any means, but neither was that KR interior.

Thanks for posting and I'll let you know what I think when they finally arrive...

p.s. RP - I let them know where I learned of their product!! Gave them the exact link to check out for themselves.

Forgot to mention that they even offered to send out free material samples if I wasn't comfortable choosing between their two recommendations. Since one of those was the one I had settled on myself looking at it on their website, I just went ahead and ordered without the sample. They won't be on all the time anyway, so I don't care if it isn't 100% perfect...

Thumbs up

Svermill, I don't think you will be sorry you ordered the Wet Okoles. Glad I could bring them to your attention. They will take a while to get to you - they are all custom made when ordered. Figure 3-4 weeks, mine took 4 but it might be because I ordered camo. And I should have said they coordinate well with the KR interior. They smell funny when they are new, but it fades after a few weeks.

What color did you order???

OK, I'll just leave them sit out for a few weeks before I ever put them in so they don't interfere with that leather smell I love so much. Thanks for the pointer.

I went with the standard black sides, etc. with a moch center section. I was considering either tan or mocha before I called. Then, without hesitating to look it up somewhere, they guy suggested either one of those two, so I went with my first instinct. I could have waited for the fabric samples but chose not to. I won't have them on unless the weather is particularly bad or I'm up playing in the woods somewhere. I don't really care if the wildlife in my truck thinks they're a good match or not.
