Keep the Navigator or New KR

Keep the Navigator or New KR
Currently I drive a 2004 Lincoln Navigator 4x4. It's loaded and a very nice vehicle, but in less than a year the warranty will run out and with all those bells and whistle, there are possible problems. I've always had my heart set on a F250 KR, however, talking with a lot of guys I work with that have the 6.0 and 7.3 diesels, they tell me to stick with the F150. Their reasoning is that the cost of owning a diesel truck is great. I was waiting for the 2008 F250's based on hearing rumor of better mileage. Every forum for the 08's is stating the opposite.
Therefore, I'm here soliciting inputs on whether I should just keep the Nav or buy a new KR. I currently tow a 24' boat on some weekends and I'm averaging about 13 mpg on the dash computer (w/o towing). I'm not expecting a huge gain in mpg with the KR, however, I'm sensing that it should be better.
Again, I'm trying to get some info/opinions that may pursuade me one way or the other.
Thanks.

I traded my F150 in for an 06 F250 KR a little over a year ago, the diesel is awesome if you do a lot of towing, but the maintenance is definitely more. I had planned to wait for the 08's as well, but when I started reading about all the new emissions stuff as well as the increase in prices, I jumped for the 06 and couldn't be happier. The F250's are great trucks, but if I was only towing occassionally I'd stick with the Navigator if it were me.....those are nice trucks.

If you visit www.fordwarrantys.com you can get GREAT prices on extended FORD warranties. They are not 3rd party warranties.
Also, the price listed is not what you pay, once you register they send you an email with a further discount of usually between $175 and $300 below the already great price.
I say go that route for now, and keep the truck at least a bit longer and see what Ford brings to the table with the new F150s in 2009.

I greatly appreciate the feedback received so far. Waiting seems like a pretty good idea, but I'm not always about the most rationale route.
Something else to take into account. My father is a retired Ford employee, thus I get Z-Plan. The truck that I'm looking at is a 2007 KR with everything except skid plates and navigation. MSRP is $43,370; Z-Plan is $34,315 after all rebates. I'm really considering the KR because of the great deal.
I though about waiting for the 2009's, but even if I do replace the truck in a year or two, I will most likely loose little or nothing at all. Please let me know your opinions.
Thanks.

I'm with you on the "hard to wait" part, though. It's tough
