Problems with power sliding back glass!!

Hey all,

I am having some problems with the powered sliding back glass on my 06 F250 King Ranch. It worked fine the first week that I had the truck, but the other day I went to open it and at about half way open it slowed down and then just stopped?? I tried to close it and it would hardley move. I had my wife hold the button down on the dash while I pushed on the sliding part to get it all the way closed. Has anyone had any problems like this with theirs?? Any help would be greatly appreicated. The truck is still under warranty, but I sure dont want to have to take it in to the dealership and leave it.

THanks,

Unfortunately, there are quite a few documented problems with the power slider. While I have only really seen consistant problems with the 2005+ F-150, I'd feel confident in saying that the mechanisms that power the glass being very similar/the same. They're likely from the same manufacturer as well.

Obviously, it's a warranty issue but, that's always a hassle. Best of luck to you and feel free to search this one out a bit as I think you'll see that there are lots of problems with them -- unfortunately.

You can run into problems if it's not used that much, Ford sells a lubricant for the track, check with your local parts dept. and they can hopefully point you to it...
