Hey dufunnel,

I thought the production sequence was how many Screws were built and not how many KRs were built. They build XLTs, Lariats, Harleys, KRs and the sequence number is just how many since the first batch, right? In order to figure out which ones were KRs they'd need to know which ones included KR parts.

We are probably talking the same thing but are just looking at it a little differently. I work for a manufacturer of Lift Trucks and we use serial numbers too but that number doesn't tell you much. The serial number must be decoded as you mentioned to figure out how it was built.

See Ya,
DaveMan

not to burst your bubble but there are no limited production numbers of the KR edition.....the KR is a Package...like XL, XLT, XLT Lariat, & King Ranch. It is not considered a special production like the Lightning and the King Ranch Editions are.....sorry.

I think he means the Lightnings and Harley Davidson Editions. That just otherwise doesn't make sense.

i just use KR for King Ranch so i dont have to type it out..what I meant was, is that the King Ranch F150 is a trim level, equevilent to a XL, XLT, & XLT Lariat. It is the top trim level...there are no total Production numbers for a King Ranch F150 since it is not considered a "Special Edition" like the HD and the Lightning......whose production numbers are both limited....I gathered all of this information from the Ford website....I was really interested in production numbers so I asked a dealer and he said that there are no limits on the King Ranch, after that I was confused so I checked it out for myself.

shanker,

You've touched a raw KR nerve, ouch!

I must disagree. I think the King Ranch (KR) is a special edition truck that is just gettin' the raw end of the deal. I don't see where a Harley or Lightning is any more special than a KR except that Ford limits the numbers and gives out all sorts of gifts and serialization trinkets.

Also, I think the KR is much more than an XL, XLT or Lariat 'cause the seats and interior are branded with King Ranch and I've never seen or heard of that in an XL or XLT except for some in a Lariat.

I think that Ford's intent was to design and build a truck just as special as a Harley except to attract a different kind of customer that likes ruggedness and a country scheme. I think the KRs should be just as important to Ford as the Harleys 'cause the King Ranch is not just a farm in Iowa, It's the largest damn ranch in the US and has one hell of a history which dates much farther than Harley or Lightning.

If Ford won't recognize then damn things as special, then all the KR owners should surely come up with our own damn system based on the serial numbers or something.

If KRs aren't special, then why does Ford paint them with special colors, have options that are not available in any other package, have features that are not available in any other Screw like the high cut line on the trim paint, special badges, branded seats, Home Link, rear bucket seats with center console, special moldings and special bedliner and mud flaps. I don't see Ford doing that for an XL, XLT or Lariat but I do see it for Harleys and Lightnings so go figure!

Why don't you share this info source with us to the Ford website where you gathered all your info with an internet link?

Skagel,

Women get PMS, men get lack-o-nookie! I know, it's a personal problem, right? Well, PMS is a personal problem too so what's the difference?

Thanks for the kind words though. Thought for sure you would've jumped in on that one and come out punching.

Yes,

Local Dealer says that it is a limited edition truck, the dealers can only get a couple at a time, and confirmed the 19,000 total units to be made.

Regardless, you cant get the features offered on this truck on any other S-Crew. Thats makes it......SPECIAL!!!!!

Way to go Lightguy, you've shed some new LIGHT on the subject and supported the special edition camp.

Thanks man!

well, i thought you pretty much summed it up so i didn't feel the need to add my pms'ing attitude to it......

MikeF150,
just because i am from CA doesn't make me a tree hugging freak like a lot of the people out there.....and yeah the papers out there are just as bad.......and the NRA has several monthly magazines that you choose from every year when you renew your membership...no monthly, weekly, whatever letter.....and they are about guns, gun rights....etc......not trucks.....ok i am sorry i am just pms'ing this week don't take me to serious please....i don't want a political argument.......

ok i couldn't stop thinking of how you can relate our KR's to guns...and you know the front center consel....after removing that anoying top box to get to the horribley placed cd changer.....well, in front of the cd changer is a great place to put your mini-gun safe......not sure if the engineers at ford thought of it, but that is the first thing i thought of when i went through my truck at the dealer....ok i will go back to pms'ing on my male co-workers now

as you can see the King Ranch is an options group...

if you have any friends that are ford dealers...ask them to see the order book...in the book it also states that there are no maximum units to be manufactured...this is the dealership i got all my info from
http://www.sykorafamilyford.com

im not nocking the KR by any means....i like the truck..i have a King Rach Backpack, wallet, Gun case, Daily Planner, and I just bought my girl a King Ranch Purse/wallet....kinda pricey but i get good discounts at the saddle shop....and I do get special treatment when I go out to the Ranch sinse I know everyone and I also go fishing and used to go hog hunting around the feedlot area.....its AWSOME..at night with a spotlight..you can see about 300 sets of eyes in the fields right around the feedlot.....its great hunting...
